I'll have to contemplate A Companion to Wolves. I read the synopsis of it a week or two ago and it sounds great, but it might be a little too much for me. I just read Melusine and The Virtu last month (still haven't managed to get my hands on the third one) and and loved them.
I don't like historical fiction, either! But the Pagan books are fabulous. Is Evil Genius a middle school book, or more HS?
My instinct is to say that if you liked Melusine and The Virtu you'll probably like A Companion to Wolves. I cried during the first horrible rape scene in Melusine, too (though maybe not as hard). Wolves is definitely worth a read.
I'd say Evil Genius could fit in both libraries, but if I had to choose, I'd say middle school. In a high school, I'd only expect grades 9 and 10 to read it. (Not that the kids don't always surprise me. *grin*)
