The Graveyard Book wins Newbery Award!

Jan 26, 2009 10:20

Finally, a book that wins the Newbery is one I've actually read, let alone heard of. Yay for Neil Gaiman!

Of course, now I have to wait and wait to see who won the Printz award, which is the award I care the most about, being a teen librarian. Oh, and the new Morris award, which is for a debut novel from an first-time author writing for teens. None of the ALA sites seem to be working right now, and I can't find the information posted anywhere else yet (the awards ceremony supposedly wrapped up about an hour ago), so I will have to suck it up and wait. And the links I posted here aren't really loading either, because like I said, the ALA site is apparently struggling. Maybe everyone else is trying to find out who won awards other then the Newbery, too, and crashing the site. But you'd think an hour would be enough time to whip up a big press release and make it available, hmmmm?

ala, book awards: newbery
