Ouch

Allowing your cat to release some nervous tension that's been building for 2-3 days (mostly caused by hoovering and a large fishtank installment) by allowing her to play rough when she shows she wants to is not a good idea.

Esp not when you realise the sweater you put on for armour is actually quite thin and yes the cat's claws have grown into their full velociraptor glory inbetween the last claw trimming. Also not brilliant is that by the time you realise this the cat has turned on its full aggressive mania and does not take no for an answer.

This includes launching herself from the floor claws first at my upper arm when Im sitting in a chair. Then going for my calf with the theory that if she's fast enough I wont notice and not tell her off (not true) and then twisting around in that way that uncooperative cats do when I decided that what was needed was a cool down period. There's no reasoning with a cat in that state.

I got her out of the living room and closed the door.

5min later there was pathetic meowing at the door and some banging on the door and scratching of the carpet. I was still checking out the state of me (not too bad, no heavy bleeding, a bunch of scratches but nothing that should scar). After anothet 5 min I opened the door and the most innocent creature imaginable was sitting on the other side looking at me with big eyes (but normal pupils). She purred, rubbed herself against my legs, jumped into the sofa next to where I sit when Im on the computer, curled up and dozed.
