Day 19: Brute force required
My husband and I love Nigella Lawson, and we're thrilled that she's got a new show on The Food Network.
I love watching her shows. Rodney, and some of his male co-workers, love watching her. And she's not disappointing them with this show.
In addition to the shots of her, we have her running commentary while she makes her dishes, a culinary commentary unlike anything you'd hear from, say, Sandra Lee or Rachael Ray.
Today she was fairly tame, discussing how "a little brute force" is always good in the kitchen. But a few weeks ago she waxed on about "hot frozen pea action" while making a chicken and sausage dish with peas. As she was cutting up lettuce for a sandwich she delighted in the squeak of the lettuce "as it yielded itself to her knife."
I think it frightens Rodney, but I know he likes it.
