Good riddance

2005 is over. Good riddance.

Our festivities were quiet, but nice. Rachel spent the weekend with her grandparents and nine-year-old cousin, leaving Rodney and I to our own devices. We had fun.

We started our New Year's Eve finally catching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire before it left town. We followed this up with an Italian brunch and walked the Downtown Mall, browsing the stores we can't take Rachel into. We bought books and a nice French champagne the wine store clerks were buying for their own parties. We bought coffee and cigars. Later, we ate dinner at a very nice tapas bar, washing down our delectable food with sparkling, dry cava and mojitos.

Then home by 10, where we watched Serenity in our PJs before turning over to see Dick Clarke welcome in 2006. We sorely missed Billy Idol from last year's show, and instead were forced to watch Hillary Duff tell us how the Pussycat Dolls were all about female empowerment. Huh?

*sigh* Still, drinking champagne in your PJs is a good thing and hopefully a lucky way to ring in a new year.

Good luck to us all!

movies, tv, drinking, new years
