Pony and a Plastic Rocket post

Nov 17, 2009 16:53

These are starting to crop up on the ol’ flist again, and I’m in dire need of the holiday cheer this year, so here’s my holiday wishlist. If pieces of it seem vaguely familiar, it’s because certain needs just haven’t changed from last year. :)

The RULES [which I'm sure you know...] )

holly friggin jolly, pony and a plastic rocket

We're going to at least one of the yearly Christmas & crafts fairs this weekend, I promise to buy something cool from a local craftsman!

I'm so happy to hear that. Thank you. :D And hopefully I'll get to hear about your craft fair adventure too.

*flails* *glomps*

Last year my back was acting up at this time so I didn't get to go to any Christmas fairs, it was so unfair. This year I hope to go to at least a couple but of course that depends on who else wants to go since I don't have either a car or a driving license. We're definitely going to the one this weekend though.

*steadies you and hangs on*

I can completely relate to the transportation issues - I'm in exactly the same boat. I hope that you can manage additional fairs - I always find them to be good fun. And I'm SO GLAD that your back's behaving this year!

Thanks. Etsy has completely roused my holiday spirit. I'm feeling pretty optimistic, really.

[Which is good, since the holiday schedule just came out and I'm working Christmas Eve, Christmas AND New Year's. ROCK ON!]

That sucks so much!! No one should have to work ALL the holidays like that!

Yeah.
I might be a little mad about that part.

I'm technically scheduled for Thanksgiving too, but there are two of us on, so I'm using personal time to take it off.

*laughs a bit* the person who stops my mom and me from checking out christmas markets, art fairs, and everything in that direction is a brave, brave soul. I think my mom visited the local patchwork exhibit four or five times alone, for example. :))

*huggles you* you have a really awesome list there!

:D I distinctly remember our having this conversation in the past. And I just love how it's something that you and your mom do together. So: you mom likes quilts... what do you look forward to seeing at the shows? Do you have favorite artisans that you visit every year?

Thank you for saying so. *hugs you tight*

My mum is awesome that way. She sees something she likes, she's trying it on her own. Make your own book? Done that. Make paper? Been there. Working with clay? Bought the t-shirt. And yeah, right now, it's the quilting. I think she just finished the fourth one - the next one is already being planned...and the one after that *laughs* *pets my own quilt*

I have a few that I like and that are at the Christmas market every year - one makes tiny ice skates out of different kinds of fabric and bent paperclips, they are so cute! (Mom, of course: "let's buy one and see if we can make them ourselves!")

:) Random, but I really, really love your icon!
