Little birdies sneaking wary looks...

I'm not quite sure what to make of this weekend.

This is most likely due to my reading too much Charles Simic at the library yesterday. Juicy stuff, that's absolutely perfect for Fall... but he's not a restful poet. [But then, I don't particularly *like* restful poets. ].

The weather's beautiful- it's cool, not cold, but there's a distinct hint of melancholy in the air. It's breezy -  wind on leaf is comforting, nature's equivalent to a lullaby sung low over the creak of a rocking chair. I'm thinking a lot about rocking - woke up this morning wishing I lived on a houseboat, so I could lay on deck and watch the sky. Strange thoughts for someone that doesn't particularly trust large bodies of water.  There's a comfort in that image that I can appreciate, though.

Oh hey, kimberly_tries ! I got your package - it's absolutely perfect. The raven is perched on my desk, by the monitor.  And the rest of the bits and bobs have got me thinking about mask-making too. Thank you.

fangirls of a feather, yammering me
