A postcard-sized piece of art a day...

Michael Joyal’s year-long art odyssey has come to an end.

This week, the Winnipeg artist will complete the 365 Days Before I Sleep art project, a gruelling endeavour that saw him create a postcard-sized work of art each day for one year.

Oh, honey… if you consider a postcard-sized piece of art per day to be “gruelling”, you’ve obviously never been a commercial artist. Hell, some comic artists produce 100 sketch cards a week as part of their normal output.

I mean yes, I get it, he pushed his boundaries and he’s proud of that, but let’s not lose sight of the fact that from the POV of many working artists what he did was pretty small potatoes.
