Poetry Fishbowl Report for Tuesday, November 5, 2013

Nov 13, 2013 23:55

This month's theme was "family gatherings."  I worked from 12:15 PM to 5 AM on Tuesday, so about 14 hours 45 minutes allowing for breaks.  I wrote 11 poems that day and another 10 later.  They ran long, with a lot of epics.

Many of the prompts focused on serial poetry, which often winds up longer than stand-alones.  Ideally, I'd like to see a combination of serial and unrelated prompts, because that makes it easier to mix and match prompts from different people, as well as a wider range of lengths.  So if you can give me a variety of prompts, that helps.  If all you can think of, or all you want, are series prompts (or unrelated prompts) then that's okay; just give me what you've got.

We had plenty of participation.  There were 46 comments on LiveJournal and another 21 on Dreamwidth.  A total of 19 people sent prompts.  Please welcome new prompters Trevor Edwards, DW user Sylvaine, and DW user Fyreharper.  You have them to thank for the second freebie.

Buy some poetry!
If you plan to sponsor some poetry but haven't made up your mind yet, read the list of unsold poems from November. That includes the title, length, price, and the original thumbnail description for the poems still available.

The currently sponsored poems have been sponsored.  Prompter copies have been sent out for the rest.  Per the $200 goal, " If You Want to Make Peace" is the free epic.  Per the $250 goal, that's two tallies toward a mid-month fishbowl.  Per the $300 goal, there will be a half-price sale in Fledgling Grace from November 18-24.  The donor perk-post is " Gathering Family."

Donors this month included: Stephen Laird, baaing_tree, janetmiles, technoshaman, mdlbear, Anthony & Shirley Barrette, and DW user elliemurasaki.
