I would like to be the first to nominate Djinni's Free Icon Day.

While I'm being greedy, I'd also like to nominate MeeksP's Story Sketches.

And, just to hog all the fun... ankewehner's Free Art Day

All awesome nominations, but please put them in appropriate format! As below:
A nomination consists of the project title, creator name, award category, a link to the project page, and a summary. The summary should include several sentences describing the project's content (theme, characters, plot, etc.), presentation (media, frequency, etc.), and crowdfunding approach (money handling, audience interaction, etc.). Example:

Project Title: "Awesome Content"
Creator Name: A.J. Muse
Link: http://awe.some.content.com
Category: Other Project.
Summary: "Awesome Content" is a story about A.J. Muse's three ferrets, told in a combination of music and fiction, illustrated by photos. It is funded by a combination of donations and photo sales. Updates twice weekly on Music Mondays and Fiction Fridays."

Also note that each nomination should be a separate comment. Thanks!

Project Title: "Sketch Fest"
Creator Name: organized by Ellen Million aka ellenmillion
Link: http://www.ellenmilliongraphics.com/sketchfest/
Category: Art
Summary: Sketch Fest is a monthly activity for people to submit prompts on any topic, which artists then use to create sketches or other art. The 'sketch' part means an artist may only spend one hour working on each prompt claimed, during the Sketch Fest, although sketches may be refined later. That part is based on traditional artistic exercises designed to encourage people to try new things and make a lot of art. Many artists then post resulting prints or originals for sale. The project has a thorough website to organize all this activity, and there are extra features available to registered members. I like posting prompts and then watching to see what people create -- I've even gotten inspiration for literature from some of the resulting pictures.

Project Title: "100 Sketchbook Retrospective"
Creator Name: M.C.A. Hogarth aka haikujaguar
Link: http://haikujaguar.livejournal.com/tag/100%20sketchbook%20retrospective http://www.ellenmilliongraphics.com/sketchfest/
Category: Art
Summary: This started as a casual tour through the artist's 100 sketchbooks, showing her skill development over time. It has become a pretty regular monthly project. She describes what kinds of sketches and which characters appear frequently in each volume, and lets people vote on what they most want to see. Then she posts some sample images, and donations get more sketches posted. I think this is a great way to help people understand what goes on in an artist's work life, how skills and characters change over time, how ideas come in waves. And it's a lot cheaper to sponsor a sketch being scanned than to buy a print, so this makes art affordable ( ... )

Project Title: "Prompted Abstracts"
Creator Name: Ellen Million aka ellenmillion
Link: http://www.ellenmilliongraphics.com/abstracts2-finishedabstracts.php
http://emg-zine.com/
Category: Art
Summary: This fundraiser invites people to leave prompts, usually one word or a short phrase about an abstract idea. Then the artist paints an ACEO card inspired by the prompt. She has turned some of the images into LiveJournal icons as well. Most of the art really is abstract, but a few cards have identifiable things like clouds, stars, or fish on them. Some of the cards go to their prompters, while others are available for sale. Donations have gone to support another of ellenmillion's projects, EMG-zine.
