Duncan was beginning to suspect that there was something more to this than the ticket said, but he couldn't be absolutely sure. Either way, there was no turning back once he was on the chopper and on his way. The pilot never said anything, even ignored the couple of attempts he made to question him, which aroused his suspicions even more. Were the hunters this well organized now? Would they go through all this trouble for one immortal, even one as known as Duncan apparently was?
Perhaps it was the Watchers themselves. He wouldn't put it past them. They'd already orchestrated a kidnapping, trial and near execution of Joe.
The atmosphere was much like the one he'd grown up in, chilly, damp, slightly misty. It was the sense of forboding he got about the building itself that was preoccupying him though. He was on alert as he made his way toward the castle, looking around for anyone who might be in the area. He didn't pull his sword, but he would be able to get to it quickly if need be.
"Hello?" he called out as he went inside.
