Amy was all set to go and search for the Doctor. Though the one she figured that was not quite like John. The one that was the one before her Doctor. If she thought about it too much, she got a headache. She was curious about how alike he was from John, if they could find him. Plus finding the Doctor possibly meant that he could tell her what was up with the creepy eye patch lady that kept peering at her.
After putting on her shoes, she raced down to the castle to find Donna. She was looking forward to meeting Donna for almost the same reasons. Plus gingers had to stick together. Especially the feisty ones who didn't take any crap from anyone. She had this feeling that she and Donna were going to get along famously.
Spotting the other redhead down by the way, she trotted over and smiled. "Hi, I'm Amy."
Best not to think about it too hard. Best to dismiss it all and label it 'timey-wimey, spacey-wacey stuff', much easier on the brain. As for how alike John and the Doctor were? Well, looks-wise, they could totally be twins, shame John hadn't been ginger, that would've been brilliant. Personality-wise? It was easy to tell them apart if you knew what you were looking for.
Donna returned the smile, offering her hand to Amy. "Donna, though I imagine you already guessed that." She looked Amy over. "Blimey, you really are ginger." It was a little amusing that the Doctor's next companion just happened to be ginger when he so desperately wanted to be ginger himself.
A long time ago Amy learned to just ignore half the stuff the Doctor said and try to focus on the important parts. Maybe if she got to know both of them, she'd be able to tell the two apart. As of right now, she just wanted to help find the guy. Hopefully everything was all right. After all, trouble found him no matter where he went, and she was damn sure that it was that way no matter what Doctor was around.
She grinned at Donna and shook her hand, "It's really nice to meet you in person, Donna." The grin turned into a laugh and she shrugged. "Ginger and Scottish. It's like a walking cliche sometimes." Apparently the Doctor just liked companions who were ginger. Though of course he'd just landed in her yard when she was a kid, so it wasn't like he was out looking for gingers. Um, at least she really hoped not. That would be awkward. "You're pretty ginger yourself," she told Donna with a wink. What? She couldn't help it. Heaven help her if she ever met Jack Harkness.
Most of what he says is rubbish, anyway, and half of it is made up rubbish at that. The Doctor was one big trouble magnet and Donna was worried. After all, it wasn't like the Doctor to stay quiet for long. Maybe he'd vanished... She'd heard about people just vanishing before - that lovely bloke she met called Harry, and the creeper Zeb, and of course bowtie boy. She just really, really wanted a reassuring hug from her Doctor.
"You too, I've heard a lot of good things about you. Glad to see bowtie boy has someone to keep him in line." Someone awesome and ginger, that is. Donna laughed at the wink. Amy and Jack in the same room? The flirt levels would be through the roof. Then again, Jack could turn any woman to jelly in five seconds or less... Well, he could turn Donna to jelly in five seconds or less, at least.
"I thought maybe we could check inside the castle first?"
Barty had been looking through his cottage and decided that there were some things he needed from the castle. He also wanted to get out of his cottage for a while. He'd been holed up in there for the last week and needed some fresh air. He decided to wear a suit today since he'd been wearing mainly jumpers and slacks since he got there. Dressing in a dark blue suit with a red dress shirt, he made sure that his hair was neatly combed and that he had his wand in his pocket before heading toward the castle.
Barty noticed the two ginger women standing by the front door from a few yards away but didn't think anything of it. He knew there were other people around and some of them lived in the castle so he just kept on walking toward the door.
Someone definitely had to go and find him, and since it seemed like the only people there that knew the Doctor were Donna and Amy, it was reasonable that they would go and look for him. Who knew where he was. She hoped he hadn't vanished, that would be unfortunate. It would be nice to see a familiar face of sorts, even if it wasn't all that familiar.
"Oh yeah, between me and Rory, he's all sorted. We keep an eye on him. Us and River, when she's around." Though she didn't actually know who River was quite yet. Maybe that would come some other time. "Checking the castle sounds all right with me," she said with a nod before heading with her inside. It was then that she spotted Barty, though she just knew he looked like John. "Hey, is that him?" she pointed to Barty.
Donna arched an eyebrow. "River? River Song?" Ugh, that brought back memories of that awful library and CAL and the fake world Donna had been trapped in. It also reminded her of the pain of losing her fake children. But, River died that day... oh wait, now she remembers, something abot back to front timelines... Now, that had to be headache inducing. "I met her once."
Donna glanced over in the direction Amy was pointing. Crazy hair? Check. Suit? Check. Pretty boy face? Check. Well... that was a hell of a lot easier than Donna had anticipated and quite anti-climatic to be honest. "DOCTOR!!!" Oh, Donna probably should've warned Amy to cover her ears.
Barty just kept on walking toward the door, trying to remember what it was that he needed. He heard the rather loud woman yell something about a doctor but he ignored it since she obviously wasn't talking about him.
He ticked off his "shopping" list on his fingers as he walked, not really paying attention to either woman.
That was one story that Amy probably didn't want to know, at least especially when she finally figured out who River was to her. But she didn't even know that she wasn't real. Just living flesh. "Really? I guess that makes sense. Their timelines are all messed up," she agreed. "But her and the Doctor flirt so much it's like.." she shook her head. Clearly River got it from her mother. And if River and Jack ever met well..
She wasn't quite sure about the hair, but it did look like him. Good grief that woman could yell. Amy hadn't been expecting it so she winced slightly and then started to follow after Donna towards the other man. "Doctor!" she called as well, waving her arm a bit. Maybe he didn't see them?
Very messed up, considering the Doctor's first time meeting River was the day she died. Probably best not to mention that. Especially considering just who River was - not that Amy knew that yet. "Flirt, really? Well, I mean she was kind of flirting with him the day I met her. He didn't really flirt back though. I suppose he'd only just met her though." Timey-wimey...
Oh, the Doctor was so in for it if he didn't stop ignoring her... And if he pulled the whole 'John Smith' nonsense she'd slap him across his pretty boy face. She jogged over to Barty. "Oi! Going deaf in your old age, Spaceman?"
Barty was going to keep walking until he noticed the two women were coming his way. He stopped and turned to see if there was someone coming up behind him. When he noticed there wasn't anyone there, he turned back to the two women. Who was this doctor they were looking for.
"Space man?" He raised an eyebrow as he looked at the loud ginger woman. "Listen, woman. I've no idea to whom you are referring but I'm not doctor." He could tell that she was from London, and the other one had a bit of a northern accent to her, so his London accent wouldn't deter them from thinking he was who they thought he was.
"My Doctor has like the serious hots for her. He likes a bad girl apparently. It's kind of weird and awkward actually," Amy confessed. Though for more reasons that she knew. "Guess one day they'll figure it all out." She'd like to be there when they did though, just to figure out who she was.
She blinked then at Barty's reaction to the two of them, but that was confusing. He sounded like John, but not John? "You don't recognize her? That's Donna? I'm Amy I'm.." she trailed off. "Well that's not important." She glanced over at Donna. "Oh what if he's hit his head and doesn't know who he is? That's going to be a pain in the arse."
Well... this was awkward. So much for a grand reunion with lots of hugging and laughing and more hugging. Donna was torn between punching Barty and bursting into tears. How could the Doctor forget her? Maybe she hadn't been all that brilliant after all.
"Amnesia? Could be. Or fobwatched." She eyed Barty suspiciously. "Oi, you. Got a fobwatch?" It didn't occur to her that maybe, just maybe this wasn't the Doctor after all. Because, aside from John, what was the chance of someone else having the exact same face as the Doctor?
Barty tilted his head, totally confused. He had half a mind to pull out his wand and hex both of them. Immobulus would get them to leave him alone. Of course it would leave them completely unable to move. It would be a lot of fun, but Sirius would probably track him down and punish him.
"No, I don't have a fob watch. What are you going on about? I don't have a watch of any kind." He shook his head.
"You've obviously got me confused for someone else. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need some things from the castle." He knew that he was different at that moment. That being away from his Master was having an effect on him. Before coming to this place he would have killed both of them without a thought. Or maybe just tortured them for a while for his own amusement. Now he was actually considering other people's feelings before acting. What was going on in that head of his?
Very very awkward. She shrugged her shoulders at Donna, "I don't know what a fobwatch is, but let's really hope that that's not it." That would just be bad on all sorts of levels. She would have been more in his face, but clearly Donna was the bad cop in this good cop, bad cop scenario. Not that Amy had any idea how to play good cop at all.
When he brushed past them, she sighed. "Well then do you have a name? I mean, do you remember time? Space? The TARDIS?" she questioned as nicely as she possibly could. Which probably sounded pushy. Because she was Scottish, and Amy just always sounded demanding. "I'm sorry, you just look exactly like a friend of ours."
Barty stopped and turned to look at the younger woman. "I know what time is. And space. No idea what this....TARDIS is? Never heard of it." He cleared his throat and slipped a hand into his pocket, wrapping it around his wand. Maybe he would need to hurt them after all.
"My name is Bartemius Crouch Jr." He bowed slightly. He might have been a little crazy, and slightly evil, but he had been raised to be a gentleman. Although before he'd gotten there he was more than a little crazy and far from slightly evil. Barty found himself wishing he had some veritaserum on him. He could dose both women and get the truth out of them about what they were talking.
