A massive castle stands in bright white against a cloudy sky...

Your arrival by helicopter takes you clear over the top of it. The pilot isn't friendly and your confusion over the mobile phone sitting next to you is met with no reply. You're glad when the helicopter lands, though put off by its seemingly random location many yards away from the actual castle. You walk through the castle's rampart and onto the island on which it's situated. You feel like you'll find what you're looking for here, though the whirring sound of the helicopter's beating blades makes you uneasy.

The castle door is large and impressive and you briefly consider if you should knock or just enter. The door opens to reveal a classically decorated entranceway into a magnificent hall. The place is deserted, yet it feels as though only recently it held life. If you're psychic or otherwise inclined, you immediately recognize that something very bad happened here. Something very wrong. Even those not blessed with such gifts may begin to realize that this trip was taken at great risk.

As you make your way straight ahead into the hall you'll notice everything seems immaculately clean. An upkeep as detailed as this must have required the work of many servants. Your thoughts are interrupted by something spilled across the floor in front of you. There's no questioning that it's blood - the way it's smeared bright red against the white marble floor. There's a concentrate of it here, but if you visually retrace your steps you'll find tiny drops of it along the very path you walked.

You might want to try your mobile phone, but the only one that works was the one you picked up off the helicopter seat and you can't make sense of it now. All other electrical equipment seems to malfunction in different ways. A glance up the stairs to your right will reveal a continuing trail of blood. More drops, becoming thicker and heavier now and all of them leading to the first doorway at the top of the stairwell. The door is locked, but the handle is old, and you don't think it would take much to get it open. Should you try and succeed, you'll find the body of a man strewn across the floor just beyond the door's breech. And they aren't alive as you might have hoped. No, they're quite dead, and quite recently, too. Maybe if you had just arrived a few minutes earlier...

Inspection of the body will reveal terrible wounds. For those more medically inclined you might think these wounds came from an animal. The bite marks are distinctive; leaving the impression of long and flat incisors. The most gruesome across the man's neck - there's barely anything left of it. The man is dressed as a gardener; brown coveralls and dirt under his nails. His metal watering can feet away from him, dented badly with violent looking hole through the centre. For the very astute, you may notice short white hairs on the gardener's hands and clothes. There is no other obvious forensic evidence.
