Sawyer walked in the room and looked at the pilot. Sure, the guy was screaming, but Sawyer didn't flinch, if it wasn't for the fact that the guy was one of the pilots, then Sawyer would've cared some.

"Easy there, killer." Sawyer moved to the side of the bed. "Maybe this is punishment for what you've done, ever think of that?" Sawyer just looked down at the guy with a hard look upon his face.

The pilot stared at him blankly, his eyes blinking back tears of pain which were leaving clean streaks down his smoke-stained cheeks. After a few moments, he twisted towards the edge of the bed, apparently ready to make a break for it, but was instantly halted by his injured leg, the sharp movement of which brought forth a fresh scream of anguish from him. Even so, he struggled with a weak but single-minded resolve in the direction of the door, making it as far as the edge of the bed before being stopped again by his inability to move his leg beneath his knee.

Sawyer smirked, "yeah, don't reckon you're going anywhere anytime soon." Sawyer shook his head, he could not believe this guy. "Take it you realize that what you've been doing is wrong, can't bare to face us."

"I... I need to get out of here," he responded, thickly, "I can't be here. I need to..." he gasped with pain, gritting his teeth as he struggled to lift himself to his feet, grabbing hold of the curtains and vainly trying to haul himself to his feet, "I need to get back to my helicopter."

Sawyer moved over and lightly pushed the pilot back down on the bed. "Ain't goin' anywhere, buddy." He made sure that the pilot was laying back down before talking by pressing his hand on the man‘s chest; he didn’t need him falling out of the bed in his attempt to get out. "Thing is, your helicopter crashed and burned, besides that, don't think we'd let you just up and leave. Even if we would let you, don't think you'd make it in that state of yours." Sawyer was a bit impressed with the determination of the guy ( ... )

As the chain slipped from his neck and was half-way up his head, it was as though a switch was flipped in the pilot's brain. His eyes glazed over, going dead and cold, like those of a shark in search of prey.

Instantly, his head whipped forwards, aiming a brutal headbutt towards Sawyer's face, even as his hands bolted for his neck, reaching out to strangle and crush.

Weak with bloodloss and smoke inhalation, his strength was mercifully sapped, but his intent to kill was unmistakable.

Sawyer yanked back with the chain still in hand, he wasn't going to let this guy try anything with him. Maybe if he wasn't so weak he would have gotten in a hit, but Sawyer was able to more away just in time.

"See you still don't understand," Sawyer looked down at the pilot with a bit of shock in his eyes. Most poeple would have given up by now, but not this guy. Just the look in his eyes sent a few shivers down Sawyer's back.

"Should we try this again?" He titled his head to the side and looked the pilot in the eyes.

His expression, if indeed he could be said to be wearing one, didn't change in the slightest as he stared Sawyer in the eyes with that cold, fixed gaze. One hand closed around Sawyer's own, preventing him from moving it, or the amulet it held, away from his neck. With his other, he reached out for Sawyer's left eye, leading with his thumb, ready to jam it into his eyesocket.

All the while, his face never showed a trace of emotion; not rage, not hate, not even concern. Nothing about his body language suggested that he was even fully aware of what he was doing.

The pilot's yells echoed down the hall and Reid froze, trying to determine if he'd indeed heard what he thought he'd heard. Someone in pain, it sounded like, coming from somewhere up ahead.

He rushed down the hall, taking a few moments every now and then to stop and listen. Finally he reached the lab, and had barely a split second to take in the scene before the pilot attacked. Reid lunged forward, trying to grab his hand before he could take out Sawyer's eye.

"What's going on?" Reid asked breathlessly, looking from man to man.

((OOC: Er, sorry this is kind of late in the thread. I hope its okay for me to jump in?))

Isaack too was attracted by the sound, body now sated by the amount of blood he had taken from Devon, and when he saw Reid speeding past him in the corridor, he blinked, moving after.

He could not remember Reid, which had been one of his caputors back when the vampire had known himself. now Isaack was a blank paper, which only vauge memories here and there, unable to tell which was real, and which was not.

But as he headed down the scene playing out in front of him in the room, he arched and eyebrow, fingers itching. "He is still alive? He should have bled to death by now!"

With no more than a momentariy and indifferent glance in Reid's direction, the pilot flexed his one good leg, curling it up to his chest and aiming his heel at Sawyer's solar plexus, preparing to kick at him even as both of his hands were occupied by the two men.

In the process, though, his movements momentarily put much of his weight on his mangled leg, and in that moment, his icy and singular resolve was replaced by a wince and a strangled cry of pain. For just a moment, the pain seemed to bring him back to himself. For just a moment, his grip on the hand Sawyer held the amulet in wavered and loosened, as a spasm of pain washed across his entire body.

Sawyer took that opportunity to pull his hand back, taking the amulet with him.

"Reckon you don't know bout this?" He asked Reid as he took a few steps back.

"No, Dracula, he's dead." Sawyer rolled his eyes and looked at Isaack. He still didn't understand what was going on with the vampire, but as far as he could tell, he wasn't a threat just yet. Then again, maybe he was going to kill all of them down here.

"What do you want?"

Reid held the struggling pilot down, both to prevent him from attacking anyone and to keep him from hurting himself further. "Please, calm down! We're not going to hurt you!" Reid told him.

He looked up at Sawyer. At a second glance, now he recognized him as the man he'd met on his very first day here who'd refused to give his name. "No, not at all. What happened to him?"

Reid glanced over to the newly-entered vampire. "Isaack!" he greeted, with relief or trepidation he wasn't sure. He hadn't seen Isaack in a while and didn't know anything about how often he was being fed by Jack. Being near the injured pilot might be a bad idea. "You, uh, know what's going on here?"

Isaack shot Sawyer a angry look before heading down into the room, moving over to the three, placing a hand to help steady the man. "His helicopter crashed. He was wounded greatly, as you can see." he waved to the injured leg, before turning his head to Reid: "Sorry, I am not quite sure who you are. My mind seems to have... lost a few things here and there." he gruffed, frowning at the man. "Lie still dammit or you will die faster then you can say 'banana hammock'"

The moment the amulet was removed from his body, the pilot's entire demeanour changed. One second he was intent, focused and murderously engaged in his struggle. The next, he simply went limp; allowing himself to be pushed back into the bed. His face gained no more colour, but became more animate, as he glanced about at the three men, and the room in which he found himself contained, as though seeing them for the first time. He blinked rapidly, his features alight with confusion, and with a dawning awareness of the pain he was in.

"Ah..." he stammered, his voice pained and weak, "...hey, back off, okay? Back off, seriously. It's alright. It's all good, right?" He swatted ineffectually at the hands holding him down.

"Yea, he's one of the fucking pilots that brings people here," Sawyer said in a rather pissed off tone. It was strange the way the man changed as soon as the necklace was off.

"You really have no idea who I am?" He almost couldn't believe it, but if that was the case, then that would be good for Sawyer.

"Seems this little amulet might have done somethin' for ya? Either that or you realize you can't fight us."
