“And Dairine over there has her sentient laptop, Spot, who has come in very useful. Has anyone else got anything else with them that might be useful for our investigations, and that they’re willing to share? Or has anyone spotted anything else anywhere here that might be useful?”

"What the bloody 'ell is a laptop?"

As for Gene - he couldn't help but laugh, though gently. "Sorry," he apologised. "You're from - what? The 1980s? I guess you're aware that a lot of the people here seem to be from another 20 or 30 years on from your time? Computers have come on a long way since then. A laptop is a smallish computer that you can carry around with you and use sitting on your lap. A bit like Dairine's Spot, there, but without the legs and the sentience."

"You built a robot with laser beams out of a video game system?"
Clearly there were a lot more people here who she needed to meet.

He waved his hands about dismissively. "An' the lasers? I mean, the Playstation already had a little laser in it, right? For readin' discs? I just... I guess made it bigger?" He really had no clear recollection of what he had done, and only a kind of vague recollection of Dorian being hit with the laser beam and running away screaming. Come to think of it, Lou hadn't heard from him since. He suddenly wondered if he was alright.

After having stared at Lou for a long time, eyes wide as dinner plates, she managed to gather herself enough to blush. "He is a giant!" She whispered to Dairine, almost out of breath. "And he speaks in an odd way." Morgana was not too good with American, neither was she good with an American dialect. Heck, even Gene made her struggle to understand, and he was British! But language had evolved over time, creating a much different English then that of her time.
"What is a 'lazer'?"

He looked up at the meeting again, wondering weather or not he should go help somewhere.

"Hey, maybe I'm missing something here", he put in, raising his hand for attention, "But didn't this...Jack, right? Didn't Jack here just say we've got a time machine to some kind of magical sci-fi future? If we need equipment, why not just go there and take it from them? I mean, if we're seriously talking about un-writing their whole history, then I don't see how a bit of larceny even measures up to literally wiping them all off of the map, am I right?"
He'd been in the room for a good half hour or so, and his mind-control pheremones had had plenty of time to soak into everyone here. Anyone remotely human here within the sound of his voice should be ready to heed anything he had to say. "None of you can find the slightest objection to what I'm saying," he casually added, smiling his best car salesman's smile.

No need to go and get mauled by a giant wolf his first day here, even if he -Loke, was it?- did seemed harmless. Let the wolf come to him if he really wanted.
The laser-beam-drunken-mistake robot sounded intriguing, and a little bit like one of his own experiments gone wrong. Something to keep in mind for later.
