“Right, then!” Jack smiled, deciding it was time to move the meeting on. “Agenda point number 4: useful equipment. We’ve already dealt with the lab under the grotto, so we won’t go into that again. What about our own electronics, though - anything we brought with us here? For example, I have a wrist computer, which still retains some useful functions, though nothing like it used to.” He held up his left wrist, pushing back his coat sleeve to display his wriststrap.

“And Dairine over there has her sentient laptop, Spot, who has come in very useful. Has anyone else got anything else with them that might be useful for our investigations, and that they’re willing to share? Or has anyone spotted anything else anywhere here that might be useful?”

"I've a 51st century laptop." Devon stated, raising a hand slightly. "And a data pad as well as a external hard drive." She gave a shrug. "Most of the programs on my laptop are gear towards physics and such but if some is willing to share useful programs I don't mind people coming to me to use it."

"I brought a laptop with me although..." Billy looked around at the gadgets everyone around him had and felt slightly under... technologized... Or something. "I might be able to upgrade it a bit. Depending on what we find..."

Troy did *not* look happy with Loke there snuggling all up to Devon. his ears were flat down and he generally looked mighty pissed. But he did not speak. not now, chanting Jack's mantra in his head and letting out a soft growl, sending Loke a glare and then looking away.

Now Gene could just about wrap his head around monsters and the like - after all, it wasn't the strangest thing to happen in his life. But all this technology babble just went over his head. The group may've well been speaking another language for all the sense it made to Gene.

"What the bloody 'ell is a laptop?"

So Devon was from the 51st century too, then? Well, either that or she'd been visiting it, which could be how she knew John. Jack shrugged, trying to shake the odd feeling that he should know who she was, and nodded in response to her offer of the laptop. "That's brilliant. Good to know we have some hardware we can use if need be. And Billy, that's great too. Who knows? We might be able to get you an upgrade!"

As for Gene - he couldn't help but laugh, though gently. "Sorry," he apologised. "You're from - what? The 1980s? I guess you're aware that a lot of the people here seem to be from another 20 or 30 years on from your time? Computers have come on a long way since then. A laptop is a smallish computer that you can carry around with you and use sitting on your lap. A bit like Dairine's Spot, there, but without the legs and the sentience."

Lou had for the most part kept pretty quiet up to this point in the meeting; he hadn't wanted to draw too much attention to himself and risk anyone asking him to take part in all the adventuresome stuff they seemed to be talking about, and his attention had kind of wandered as he had polished off the first two thirds of the case of beer he'd brought with him to the meeting. Perhaps due to the foreign alcohol swimming in his veins, though, he was starting to feel just a little bit more chatty ( ... )

Dairine stared at Lou. She hadn't met him before, though she thought she remembered one or two messages from him on the phones. For one thing, his very appearance was stunning. But for another, the things he was saying...

"You built a robot with laser beams out of a video game system?"

Clearly there were a lot more people here who she needed to meet.

"Yeah, well, I didn't mean to or nothin'", he replied, sheepishly. "I ain't sayin' I'm proud of it. Stuff like that just happens sometimes when I'm messin' around with machines. You don't wanna look at the generator room after I fixed it, lemmie tell you. Looks like somethin' drawn by Jack Kirby or Mobius or somethin'."

He waved his hands about dismissively. "An' the lasers? I mean, the Playstation already had a little laser in it, right? For readin' discs? I just... I guess made it bigger?" He really had no clear recollection of what he had done, and only a kind of vague recollection of Dorian being hit with the laser beam and running away screaming. Come to think of it, Lou hadn't heard from him since. He suddenly wondered if he was alright.

Ms Callahan. That was Dairine? Morgana glanced at the little witch beside her, her eyes mildening. As much as she wished to go to the lab, she also wished to speak with Dairine about magic. Actually, the talking about magic part was stronger then the lab part of her.

After having stared at Lou for a long time, eyes wide as dinner plates, she managed to gather herself enough to blush. "He is a giant!" She whispered to Dairine, almost out of breath. "And he speaks in an odd way." Morgana was not too good with American, neither was she good with an American dialect. Heck, even Gene made her struggle to understand, and he was British! But language had evolved over time, creating a much different English then that of her time.

"What is a 'lazer'?"

Loke tilted his head, leaning on Devon's hand when she scratched him, his foot moving a bit, jaw opening and eyes half closing. Until the next person of interest spoke. Billy. He got up, sniffing the ground and over to him, the wolf so big that his back reached Billy's waist, looked at him and panted a bit seemingly happy, wanting attention, his tail wagging and smacking whomever in the close proximity with a painful force.

Alexei hardly ever took his eyes off Damon, even when Loke came close, which made him edge closer and pet the werewolf. He had had a dog in his human life. His own dog, a Springer Spaniel named Joy. He felt a spark of something inside him as he petted the rough fur, blinking. It was longing. He missed his beloved pet.

He looked up at the meeting again, wondering weather or not he should go help somewhere.

John, finally loosening up from his tense state of fear, stared straight at Jack without even looking at his daughter. "Well." he stated. "I have my very own little love toy here." he held up, showing his wrist strap. "Can do all things which it can as extras, sadly not the thing its supposed to do." he smirked. "But I am sure if you have a button that needs some pushing, I'm here." he smirked a bit. "More interesting wise is looking at Doctor Dooms laboratory. So, pale guy over there has been there before, and that damn dog from there, yeah? How do we know he is not the one who let it loose?"

Gray gently grabbed Loke's tail. "Sorry pup. But you are hurting me." He let go before patting the creature's flank and settling back in before answering John. "You don't. And you have no proof most likely so the only thing you can do is trust him. No?" He quirked his shoulders. "Its either a trap, a way to make amends or he's honestly as lost as the rest of us here and is just trying to be helpful."

Zebediah had been taking in the proceedings of the meeting quietly, getting the lay of the land before poking his head up. He really couldn't hold his tongue at this point, though.

"Hey, maybe I'm missing something here", he put in, raising his hand for attention, "But didn't this...Jack, right? Didn't Jack here just say we've got a time machine to some kind of magical sci-fi future? If we need equipment, why not just go there and take it from them? I mean, if we're seriously talking about un-writing their whole history, then I don't see how a bit of larceny even measures up to literally wiping them all off of the map, am I right?"

He'd been in the room for a good half hour or so, and his mind-control pheremones had had plenty of time to soak into everyone here. Anyone remotely human here within the sound of his voice should be ready to heed anything he had to say. "None of you can find the slightest objection to what I'm saying," he casually added, smiling his best car salesman's smile.

The giant wolf had wandered up to him and even though Billy was a little nervous, watching both Jack and the girl petting him was a bit reassuring. And now the pale kid was petting him. Tentatively he turned his hand over and opened his palm up, hoping it came off as an unthreatening invitation.

No need to go and get mauled by a giant wolf his first day here, even if he -Loke, was it?- did seemed harmless. Let the wolf come to him if he really wanted.

The laser-beam-drunken-mistake robot sounded intriguing, and a little bit like one of his own experiments gone wrong. Something to keep in mind for later.
