Alex held the ticket in her hand, almost tenderly, and stared up at the castle.
This was probably outrageously stupid, just dropping everything and coming out here. Hunt would be furious when she didn't show up to work the next day. He'd be more furious when he found out she'd nicked a gun from CID. But she was sort of fed up with answering to them, and extremely fed up with answering to every little delusion that she was forced to live with in this new life.
Except for this one. Because Molly was here. Somewhere, in this sprawling country-side castle, her daughter waited for her. A way home waited for her. And Alex was going to find it, no matter the cost.
Of course, it had been a little disconcerting when she had found the mobile phone. Mobile phones had been something of her past (well, perhaps future) but she wasn't exactly in the mood to fight with her psyche anymore. If her mind felt the need to invent some mysterious castle and some mysterious ticket in order to get her home and let her see Molly again... so be it.
She stuffed the ticket back in her handbag and eyed her surroundings. She wasn't sure where to start, but she suspected the mobile she'd been given was a key to something. What, she didn't know. She couldn't figure out the bloody thing. She sighed and stared up at the castle again, and wondered what her next move should be.
