If only Bella knew the truth, how hard this was for Edward and how much he truly loved her. But, he had to fall back, he had to keep her safe and she was best without him. Sure, he started to give in when they first got here, and probably would continue to give in, he was just scared for when they left this place and went back to the real world. Maybe it could work at this castle, there was too much strange stuff to really leave her alone and he wasn't trying to leave her alone recently; Edward had been helping an old friend that was in trouble

Bella kept her eyes closed tightly, her fist gripping at her sides as the breeze from the powerful waterfall seemed to make her dark hair along her soft features. She could feel the mist of water along her skin as she bit down along her lower lip. Openning her eyes she peered down in the water. She couldn't look bottom but it looked rather shallow. Her heart was pounding against her chest as she moved a little closer to the edge. If she couldn't have Edward, she didn't want her own life

Edward could hear the beating of her heart change once she heard him. He took a step closer, "yes, Bella, it's me." Hid golden eyes looked her over, trying to figure out just what was going on. "So?.." He continued to step forward, "what are you doing up here?"
Part of him didn't want to know. He could only imagine what she was doing and it was reckless and wrong. He really didn't understand her at times, all he had ever been doing was looking out for her and doing what was best.
Bella felt her small human form shift slightly. Her arms moving to wrap tightly around her as Edward seemed to step a little closer to her. She had thought he wanted nothing to do with her yet here he was only inches before her.
"I..I was just looking" she lied as she glanced back down into the water. "You can get a better view up here" she added as she glanced down at her feet slightly.
