Much to her own aggravation, Reinette found she was able to sleep. She had no intention of doing so. And yet as the night stretched on, and her exploration of the upper rooms revealed nothing truly informative? She found herself sitting in a highbacked chair in one of the bedrooms, staring at the bed. Refusing to utilize it and pondering who might have slept there before.

And then it was dawn.

With nothing but a sore back to show for herself besides.

She left nothing of herself behind in the room, for she had no intention of utilizing it again. To do so would suggest she intended to remain in this place, and she did not. Her gown was sadly creased, but after while she managed to work out the rest of the damage. A hairbrush on a small vanity ensured her hair was at least manageable. With her phone tucked into the hidden pocket in her skirts, Reinette made her way down the stairs.

She spent the next several hours going over the common rooms again, looking for anything that might give her more insight as to what this place was. A ledger or diary -- any sort of writings that might lead to a name or an owner.

But still? Nothing.

After a while she found herself staring into the flames of a stone fireplace. It was large, so much so it easily dwarfed the one in her rooms back in France. And yet as she watched the fire lick at the wood, consuming it, she could not help but wonder if it was somehow the way home.
