I just need to vent
I can't stand Luke's boss right now. EBEN. I really can't stand him. ARRRGGGHH!!!!
(fuck!) sorry guys, had to get that out. I was hoping I'd have a dream last night in which I could yell profanities at him all night and maybe kick his ass a little as well, but alas, i had a really good dream where I was visiting Galen and Dot Falconberg and mostly just catching up with Dot a lot.
Anyways...
This situation arose yesterday where Luke and the other people in their vehicle didn't end up knocking on doors until after 5pm (they never got to their turf until 2pm, then they had to scope out the area because they didn't have a map and they needed to divide up the turf evenly amongst themselves, and by then they decided it was better to have dinner then instead of stopping in an hour or so, and then Evan locked the keys in the car by accident and their work binders were in there, etc etc) ANYways, to make a long story short, Eben, their boss, stopped by their turf and caught them having lunch and found out that they hadn't been knocking yet and freaked out. Then he and Luke were talking on the phone later and he accused Luke of slacking to get back at him for Independence Day (they had had a falling out on I Day), which totally wasn't true. Also, he just blew the whole incident way way out of proportion, treating it like this is a very serious situation. To be honest, Luke and the other guys had been procrastinating, but that is to be expected occasionally when you have guys working a job where they are rejected 98 times out of 100, walking around in the HOT (we're talking above 40 degrees) sun 6 days a week for four months straight. The reason it makes me so angry is that he was treating it like other situations (like when matt and angus were caught catching a movie during work hours) that were obviously more rebellious. And then, last night, he texed the guys telling them he wanted to meet with them this morning individually to talk about it. And Tim (one of the others) was at our house and he was like "ooh, 10:20, that's early!" so he texed Eben and asked him if he could get a later meeting time, and Eben bumped it up to 11:40, no problem. But then when Luke did the same thing a minute later, Eben wrote back "I'm really disappointed to hear you even ask that Luke. I don't think you appreciate the seriousness of the situation. No negotiation". He's just being so patronizing and superior lately. it makes me furious. This is not a first time offense. His guys have been mad at him off and on all summer because he treats the team unequally, and he treats them like children. Luke has NEVER been late for a meeting, NEVER lied to him or tried to get away with stuff, and NEVER missed a day of work, even a sick day. I think what pisses Eben off is that Luke doesn't always come to the "team building" events (the reason he doesn't is because they always take place early in the morning or on their one day off), and because Luke has challenged him in his leadership, calling him on the times he has tried to manipulate the team for his own benefit. whatever. So the penalty for their actions that Eben decided this morning is this: $100 fine. $50 for lying in a group situation (NOT TRUE OF LUKE, the only one out of the four that could be accused of trying to avoid telling eben the truth is evan), and $50 for slacking (fair I suppose, but not when you take into account that those who have quit early to watch a hockey game at a pub, or those who have taken the time off without permission to go catch a flick were only fined $50 themselves). Eben even said that he had a mind to send them all home (fire them) but that his superior recommended that he didn't sice all four of them are making sales regularly. EEERRGGHHH!!! i so wish I could egg Eben's house without getting kicked out of the apartments, or that i could kick him in the face. He's such a pompous, snobby, immature 22 year old!!! GRR. Sorry, i know this sounds like I have an anger problem, and I don't, this is just my only outlet.
