Today Debra and I braved the "outside" by taking a trip by ourselves to Temecula. She had heard viz myspace that there was a Music Festival there today. We arrived there expecting several stages and lots of people outside somewhere, so we were a little taken aback when we came to this small gathering and a set up consisting of an outdoor amphitheatre that looked like it was owned by the public library, and a small gym stage. The bands brought both of us back to our highschool gig days and the crowd was an array of parents, and teens dressed up anywhere from punkish to twinkie to ultra fashion trendsetters to overweight skater kids for the most part. There were probably a few bands kicking around that did consist of slightly older members (I'm using this term "older" only relevantly here). However, the final band we stayed for (after that we were too cold as we were dressed for midday) was really good. It had four members, two guitar players, one of whom looked like and sang like Jack Johnson, a drummer who didn't actually play a drum but another sort of percussion instrament, and a lyricist who either just riled the crowd up or beatboxed. Deb and I both really liked the band (their name is..shoot, i'll have to get back to u on that one). Debra looked them up as soon as she got home and found out that they are actually a Christian group too, which is kinda cool. Especially since they produced the only decent music we listed to today. Anyways, dinners cooking, Luke and I are having steak tonight...hopefully in celebration of a sale i think he might have made today!! Let's pray:)
side highlight: started a new painting yesterday that I'm actually passionate about completing for once!!
just good
