So far, our landlady has been able to show this house 4 times since the beginning of October.
We haven't been able to find anything we can afford yet, so it's a good thing nobody is interesting in buying this place right now.
The only thing we really could afford living in was a mobile home, but we don't have $6000.00 for a downpayment. This pretty much leaves us at the mercy of 100% financing, and we can't find anything that will fit us all that won't amount to $1700.00 in mortgage payments plus $1300.00 a year in taxes.
I'm really not sure what we're going to do. We keep looking and hoping and praying for a miracle.
Funny how the broker can find a company that is willing to help us buy a 30 year old duplex for payments I can't live with instead of a brand new $125,000.00 mobile home with lots of room and payments that are less than the rent we pay right now.
In celebration of this ridiculous situation, I've gotten a second job with a temp agency here in town. I've booked a week off in December (I get paid my regular wage while on vacation time) so I can go work for 7 days setting up a furniture store here in the city. If I can get the time off, I'll be able to make an additional $800.00 so I can afford Christmas. If not, I guess Santa can go jump down somebody else's Chimney.
