My Chiropractor

Last year, I went to see this chiropractor who was recommended to me by my doctor. The first time I saw him, he took some x - rays of my spine and he explained to me what procedures he used. He told me that his procedures had been designed by he and his brother (also in the business) and that their methods were not yet as widely used/accepted in the chiropractic community as they hoped. I agreed to try out his methods, bcuz I could sympathize with him and his brother - it sucks when you have a really awesome idea and no one else thinks it's as awesome as you think it is. Trust me, I know.

So, we began. One of the things the chiropractor would do is position my head under something called a percussion machine - it had a small prod - like thing attached to it, and when the chiropractor pressed on it, the little prod pushed down on the area around my ear, and would supposedly straighten my spine a little bit. Then, he would take this little intstrument that looked/sounded like a machine gun to straighten my neck and spine even further. He would tell me to let him know if I got any headaches, bcuz what he really wanted was for me not to have headaches anymore.

I tried my hardest not to have headaches, so he would be happy and feel as if his methods were successful, but instead of my headaches going away, I only got more of them with increasing intensity. One good thing, however, was that I got to go have massages in the Myo (sp?) Therapy room downstairs sometimes.

I think probably the last time I went there was before my summer vacation started. It worked for me for a while, but I don't think I'll go back. My dad and I have been talking about finding another chiropractor, tho, a more traditional one. But in the meantime, they're giving away free 6 - minute massages in the Campus Health Building. ;)

didn't work, chiropractic, massage, headaches
