Digital Camera Question ~ How to switch from internal memory to card memory

So a few weeks ago, the memory card in my digital camera got full, so I switched it to internal memory, which also filled up in a few days. So today I bought a new SD card for my camera, but it doesn't appear that my camera recognizes it cuz when I turn it on, I get a little "internal memory is full" reminder. Trouble is, I don't know how to switch the memory over from internal to card.

Can anyone who's familir with cameras help me out? I'd really appreciate it! :)

My digital camera is a Kodak Smart Capture with 12 Megapixels and 3X Optical Zoom.
