Okay, let's cut to the chase. Today was the controversial "Day of Silence" in support of gay rights and what have you. Now I'm not a member of the Gay-Straight Alliance or any of that nonsense, but I do fully support the choice of sexual preference. I wore a nice white ribbon

Hey what's up. Good to hear from you. I was actually really surprised not to see more people wearing ribbons. I guess maybe it's because of that exact assumption your teacher made - everyone who wears them is gay. That really was the exact opposite reason why I wore it though - exactly what you said about making others feel comfortable about it - that's why I wanted to do it. And the fact that your teacher compared it to Nazism... that's messed up. Some people just really are arrogant...

Yeah, it's pretty bad at Chaminade. I mean, there's no GSA or anything, but any mention of the word gay in a semiserious context brings out choruses of "I hate fags." It's ri-goddamn-diculous.

It's a lot different at Chaminade too, because it's an all-boys school. So of course, people make stupid assumptions and think that there must be buttloads of gays there.

Come on dude, that's not the way I said it at all. I said if a stranger was gay it wouldn't bother me, but being roomates is kinda weird. I never ever said it like that, don't put it in my mouth that way.
