We were going to have a date night last night - at the last minute, the babysitter thing fell apart, so we had an excellent second option: a date night with child! Una and I took Miss Buttons to see Bolt, which is a really good movie - very funny, and just enough cute. Lot of good voice actors. Thumbs up. MB sat pretty well for it - and with going to McDonald's beforehand (which she likes) and dropping briefly by karaoke after (which she was unfortunately too tired or burnt out for - she just cuddled into my shoulder and stayed there the whole time, quietly), it was a really nice night. Just different from the original plan.
Our buddy Matt is doing what he can to fill song requests, as if his karaoke lineup wasn't already huge. I asked for Mr Wendal, and what do you know, last night he had found it for me, and I sang it. With child attached. MB recently referenced a song - Lord knows where she heard it - so Una put that in for herself. The only time I saw MB's eyes was the moment when Mommy started singing "I Melt With You." She watched and she listened. Of course, I think she thinks it's a song about a snowman, but still.
With that and the pleasant evening with friends for New Years, I think we've seen people face to face recently. OK, good. Back to gaming.
