Title: Shining, Shimmering, Splendid
Rating: PG
Genre: Crack, Romance, Fantasy
Pairing: Yunho/Jaejoong, Yoochun/Changmin
Summary: Yunho is Aladdin and Jaejoong is Princess Jasmine, who does not appreciate being mistaken for a girl. But Yunho is an idiot who mistakes him for a girl anyway. This makes his pursuit of love a little tricky.

Yunho is very pleased with himself.

He exchanges a glance with Yoochun, perched on his shoulder, who lets out a shriek in amusement as well. Prior to this he had been captured by some bandits, who called themselves ~Senile Moobz~ for some strange reason. They had forced him to a cave, demanding him to steal something for them. Of course, the great Jung Yunho never stole for others. After retrieving the item, Yunho promptly escaped from their clutches and wheedled his way into the bustling town, with the treasure in his hands. He grins. It calls for a celebration, he feels, and pats the stolen item, tucked away in his clothes.

First he has to find out how much the treasure's worth though.

It is then when he drifts off that he crashes into someone, impact knocking him out of his daze. Yunho is ready to glare at the other, but upon meeting the stranger's eyes his breath catches. Her hair is shoulder length and a midnight black, eyes wide and shining like clearwater. Wrapped up in a shawl, Yunho is tempted to pry at the corners to discover more of the other's face, but he settles for a hasty apology instead, cheeks flushed red. The stranger merely shakes her head and smiles a little; when Yunho blinks, she is gone, disappearing into the crowds.

Yunho blinks a few more times, star-struck. Yoochun stares at him, and flicks his forehead, as if in exasperation. He squeaks a few times, like a - get a hold of yourself already, to Yunho. This makes Yunho gather himself, only to walk straight into a pole.

Yoochun doesn't know whether to laugh or to cry.

-

At night he returns to his abode, a small makeshift room with floorboards that threatened to give away, tucked away in a corner of the slums. It is then that he eagerly fishes the treasure out, Yoochun watching avidly beside him. It is a golden lamp, glimmering in the night as if it lets out light of its own. There are symbols encrusted on the sides, when Yunho preens at it closer. He frowns, squints his eyes to make sense of the symbols, before lifting the lamp and rubbing it a few times, as if to rub away any dust that was on it.

The dust does not disappear. Instead, the lamp vibrates in Yunho's hands and smoke comes out. This causes Yunho to scream like a girl, and Yoochun to scream like a female monkey. Of course they are both very afraid and very stunned.

Yunho does not know what to expect. The lamp vibrates more and blue smoke comes out from it. Then there is a brief flash of light and a man with a very fat butt and a very fat turban emerges.

"Have you summoned me?" the man from the lamp squeaks. Yunho stares, and nods his head slowly, still stunned.

"Then you are my master!' he exclaims, smiling. Fireworks explode left right and center. "My name is Junsu," the man says. ''And I'm genie for you boy~"

"Superstar shining star superstar," Yoochun adds on. Yunho does not understand monkey speak, but apparently Junsu does. This earns Yoochun a few stares from Junsu, who is very unimpressed.

"Anyway," Junsu carries on. "You have three wishes! But there are some rules-"

"Wait," Yunho cuts in, seemingly getting a hold of himself. "You're a genie?"

"Not very bright are you?" Junsu tsks disapprovingly, folding his arms. He magics out a bouquet of flowers, and tosses them at Yunho. "Yes. I am a genie. I can grant you wishes - you know, like in fairytales?"

"Oh," Yunho blinks. Oh. He finally realizes, and grins, eyes widening. "Does that mean I can wish for anything I want?"

"Well we were getting to that before your daftness," Junsu rolls his eyes. "There are some rules-"

"Awesome!" Yunho cheers. This makes Yoochun question his master's intelligence and Junsu very exasperated. "But wait," he stops. "What should I wish for?"

Junsu is about to suggest a few things when there is a crash heard outside. Yunho raises his eyebrows, and swiftly makes his way through his room, taking a peek at the commotion outside. His eyes widen, when he catches sight of the same stranger he had bumped into in the streets hours ago. His eyebrows furrows when he notices how the said stranger is being cornered by a few palace guards. Palace guards, Yunho thought, snarling, and lept from his window in attempt to rescue -

- only to crash into a bucket of fruit.

This diverts the guard's attention to Yunho of course, who blinks and curses at his stupidity, before scooping the stranger up and disappearing into the shadows. Thankfully, Yunho's speed makes up for his lack of intelligence, so he is back in his house without getting noticed, with a very stunned stranger in his hands.

"What was that-" the stranger whispers furiously when Yunho sets him down, only to be silenced by Yunho soon after. Junsu has helpfully gone back into the lamp, and Yoochun has cleverly (unlike his master) hid it. They both feel very smart.

"I've never seen any woman as beautiful as you," Yunho ends up blurting out. The stranger freezes, and narrows his eyes before stomping hard on Yunho's feet.

"If you would excuse me," the stranger snarls, shooting one last glare at a very pained Yunho before making his way out.

"What a burn," Junsu shakes his head, emerging from the lamp again with a few rubs from Yoochun. Yoochun nods sagely in agreement.

"Shush!" Yunho glares, waving the two of them off, before wondering what on earth had he done to upset the beautiful stranger that much.

-

Morning comes and Yunho is awoken by trumpet blares along the streets. His eyes open, bleary, and he shuffles his way to the window, peering into the streets. The king is there, Yunho notices, with his entourage of elephants and servants. But then he freezes, catching sight of that stranger yet again, sitting beside the king, expression sullen.

Well, Yunho thinks. Perhaps it was fate after all.

Then an idea strikes him, causing him to grin. "Junsu," he says, summoning a sleepy Junsu from the lamp.

"Make me a prince."

-

Yunho ends up in the palace with a turban and an entourage of elephants as well.

"Your daughter is beautiful," Yunho says, bowing to the Majesty. Now he is no longer the great Jung Yunho, but he is the great prince Jung Yunho. It makes a lot of difference.

"What daughter," the king blinks. "I have no daughter."

-

"Oh," Yunho says dumbly, upon meeting the beautiful stranger - or also known as Prince Jaejoong. "You're a guy."

Jaejoong stares at him, and slams the door right at his face.

-

"Come on Jaejoong!" Yunho calls. "It was an honest mistake!"

It is the next day and this time he brings along Yoochun for moral support. Junsu too, is cheering from within his lamp. Apparently Jaejoong did not appreciate being mistaken for a girl, Yunho realizes.

He climbs the nearest tree and edges his way to Jaejoong's balcony. "Jaejoong-ah," Yunho calls, rapping on his balcony.

The door opens, to Yunho's surprise and utmost glee, only to turn into horror afterwards.

No one told him Jaejoong had a pet tiger.

-

"Yoochun," Yunho orders. "Go talk to the tiger."

Yoochun stares at him, like a monkeys-can't-talk-to-tigers-stare. The lamp vibrates, as if Junsu is laughing at Yunho yet again. But with a push and a banana dangling from Yunho's hands, Yoochun has no choice but to comply.

Yoochun squeezes his way through the door and ends up in Jaejoong's room, pink and filled with curtains.

"Huh," he thinks, amused. His master has bad taste.

Jaejoong is not in his room, he notices, surveying his surroundings. It is then when he hears a growl from behind, and jumps.

"Oh my god you scared me," Yoochun yells, jabbing the tiger with his paws.

"You're supposed to be scared," the tiger rolls his eyes, revealing his claws.

"Whoa bro," Yoochun raises his paws. "You gotta be chillin' and feel like you're healin'."

The tiger blinks. Yoochun grins.

"I'm Yoochun. My master wants to marry your master."

"I realized," the tiger says. "I'm Changmin. Your master isn't very bright, is he?"

"He isn't" Yoochun admits. "But he's not that bad-looking."

"I think you're cuter," Changmin blurts out, before cursing at his slip.

"But of course," Yoochun grins. Changmin buries his face in his hands, only to realize he had forgotten to retract his claws, so he ends up poking himself instead.

Yoochun laughs until he sheds monkey tears.

-

"Changmin is nice," is what Yoochun says to Yunho - or rather to Junsu, who translates it for Yunho."To me, of course. Not to you."

Yunho frets and panics a little, before pacing up and down the garden. "What should I do?"

Yoochun stares at the balcony and sighs. "If only you could fly."

Junsu conveys this message, causing Yunho's eyes to widen. "That's it!"

Of course everyone has a bad feeling when Yunho gets an idea.

-

It is night when Yunho attempts again, this time with something special and different in his hands. "Jaejoong," he calls from outside. "Jaejoong-ah, I can help you escape from here!"

The door creaks open at Yunho's words, with a hesitant Jaejoong peeking from the cracks. Yunho grins, face brightening when he sees Jaejoong. He waves enthusiastically, while perched on a flying carpet.

"I have a flying carpet," he says brightly, extending a hand.

The door opens wider, and Yunho cheers inwardly at his success. Jaejoong paces hesitantly forward, before stopping suddenly in his tracks.

His eyes narrow again. "Is that my curtain?" he asks.

Yunho blinks, and stares at the carpet before nudging on the lamp. "Well," Junsu whispers. "I might have used them for their patterns..."

Yunho laughs sheepishly when Jaejoong slams the door on him again.

-

"Jaejoong-ah," Yunho attempts again, this time with a new carpet. Of course Junsu does not count that as another wish, as it was his fault after all.

"I can show you the world!" Yunho sings.

"Well I don't wanna see it!" Jaejoong shouts from inside.

-

"Your master sure is persistent," Changmin says to Yoochun. They are lounging in Jaejoong's room, while Jaejoong is out yet again for palace matters.

"He is," Yoochun nods. "He really likes Jaejoong."

Changmin sighs. "I don't know why Jaejoong is so stubborn this time," he ponders. "He used to just outright turn them down."

Yoochun perks up. Perhaps Yunho stood a chance after all.

-

"Jaejoong-ah," Yunho sings. This time he decides on a different route. Instead of the balcony, Yunho tries for the front door instead.

"Why aren't you at the balcony," Jaejoong shouts from inside.

"I thought to try a different approach," Yunho grins. He crouches at the door. "Will it work?"

He can hear a faint shuffle from inside, as if Jaejoong's trying to press closer to the front door. "Maybe," he mumbles.

"Do you hate me that much?" Yunho sighs. "I-"

"No!" Jaejoong abruptly cuts in. "I mean, no, not really. Maybe."

Yunho beams, leaning against the door. "Are you afraid?"

Jaejoong is silent, but the faint breathing Yunho hears is confirmation that he has Jaejoong's attention.

"I won't hurt you," Yunho says. "I promise."

"That's what you princes always say," Jaejoong's voices comes out harsh. "Will you even give me what I want? Or am I just a pretty figure to be beside you?"

"Of course not," Yunho quickly replies. "I'll show you the world," he says softly. "For what it is."

This earns him a creak from the door, before it fully opens to reveal a hesitant Jaejoong, biting on his lips. Yunho smiles, mildly surprised, but also at how adorable Jaejoong appears right now. He steps into the room, briefly taken aback at Yoochun and Changmin lounging in the corner. He makes it a note to deprive Yoochun of bananas later.

"I really like you, Jaejoong-ah," Yunho says, cupping his hands on Jaejoong's cheeks. "Would you give me a chance?"

And he swears that he isn't the happiest person in the world right then when he nods.

-

They spend the next few days on the magic carpet, flying across the world with Yoochun, Changmin and Junsu in tow. (Apparently Changmin could fit, much to his surprise.) Yoochun spends his time laughing with Changmin, and Yunho spends his time just revelling in Jaejoong's beauty.

When they pass the streets of their hometown though, Jaejoong smiles a little more fondly. "I met this stranger there," he tells Yunho. "He mistook me for a girl as well, but he saved me from the guards."

Yunho freezes, recalling that very scene when he had crashed into the bucket of fruits. His butt hurt at the thought of it, but more importantly he remembers his life before this. Before Junsu. He looks at Jaejoong, face etched with a blissful smile, and at the carpet, and his clothes.

And he wonders if this is worth the lie.

-

"Should I tell him?" Yunho asks Junsu, sighing. Junsu stares at him. "What for?" He questions.

"I just feel-" Yunho says. "Like he's not falling in love with me."

Junsu sighs sympathetically. "It's up to you now. Whether you're willing to take the risk."

-

"My master is going to do something stupid soon," Yoochun tells Changmin the day when Yunho's about to make his decision. "So if we don't meet ever again I may say that you're a very good friend."

Changmin frowns. "You're going to leave?"

"It might happen," Yoochun sighs. "My master is an idiot."

"He is," Changmin nods. "But I'll miss you."

Yoochun grins upon hearing Changmin's rare show of affection. "Same here."

-

"Jaejoong-" Yunho starts. They are strolling along the fields, watching the night sky when Yunho breaks the silence. "I have something to tell you."

"Yes?" Jaejoong asks, smiling at him. He's grown to enjoy Yunho's company now. Yunho made him happier than he's ever been, he realizes.

"I-" Yunho says, and sighs, ashamed of himself. He removes his turban and stares straight into Jaejoong's eyes. Jaejoong gasps in recognition of Yunho's features.

"You're-" Jaejoong breathes, then he frowns. "You lied to me."

"I just wanted you to notice me," Yunho bites his lips. "That's all."

"So you're not a prince? Or was this all some ploy just to get to me," Jaejoong's eyes narrow, voice growing harsher and harsher by the minute.

"I really like you," Yunho ends up saying, unable to find a reply for Jaejoong's question.

"I don't like liars," Jaejoong growls, before stomping away, disappearing into the night.

Somehow, Yunho can't find it in himself to chase after Jaejoong.

-

It is only days after when he returns to the palace that he finds out Jaejoong has been kidnapped by a group of bandits who called themselves ~Senile Moobz~. Yunho immediately recognizes their name, and tries not to have a heart attack.

Changmin though, seems to be having it in place of him.

"Junsu," Yunho summons frantically. "What am I going to do?"

Junsu rolls his eyes. "You save him of course."

"But how-" Yunho is close to having a seizure as of now.

"You are really an idiot, aren't you," Junsu shakes his head, before snapping his fingers, causing them to disappear, and rematerialize in front of Jaejoong, surrounded by the bandits who appear to be rather stunned by their appearance.

"Okay," Yunho says, cracking his knuckles. "Whoever touches my Jaejoong deserves to die."

The men fall one by one, as the others watch in awe. "Well," Changmin says. "At least he knows how to fight."

Yoochun grins. "That's why I'm still around, right?"

-

Jaejoong takes the knowledge of Junsu better than Yunho had. His eyes had widened and he had smiled, trying to poke Junsu, but that was it.

He takes Yunho though, a little more harsh.

"You," he jabs. "You idiot!"

Yunho blinks. He does not think he is deserving to be called an idiot after rescuing them.

"You saved me," Jaejoong murmurs, voice softening. "Again."

He is brought into an embrace by Jaejoong. This makes Yunho very stunned, but very happy as well. Yoochun makes gagging noises behind then, which are silenced with a squish from Changmin.

"For you," Yunho whispers to the crook of Jaejoong's ear. "Always."

Jaejoong lifts his head, eyes meeting Yunho's very own. They are both smiling, and very much in bliss. Yunho lowers his head, until his eyelashes brush against Jaejoong's very own, before capturing Jaejoong's lips with his.

"Um," Junsu cuts in. "I don't mean to interrupt but - you kind of have one last wish."

Yunho breaks from the embrace soon after, and stares at Junsu. "What would you wish for?" He asks.

"You're asking me?" Junsu squeaks. "Well, uhm, I mean. I would-" his voice softens. "I'd like to be free."

Yunho stares at Junsu, pity welling inside of him. He purses his lips, and reverts his gaze back at Jaejoong, tightening his grip on his waist, before casting a glance at Yoochun and Changmin. Indeed, he had promised Jaejoong that he would show him the world.

And then he gets another idea, eyes brightening.

Somehow, they don't gulp this time.

-

"I'm tired, Yunho-yah," Jaejoong whines. They're done with dance practice, after hours, and Jaejoong cannot wait to get back to the dorm to snuggle with Yunho.

"So are we, Jaejoong," Yoochun yawns, earning a playful smack from Changmin.

"Hey," Junsu squeaks. "You promised me a round of soccer afterwards!"

Yunho stares at Jaejoong fondly, before sighing at Junsu's words. Indeed, they had promised Junsu a round of soccer.

"Okay okay," Yunho replies to Junsu, earning a pout from Jaejoong.

"But Yunho-yah," Jaejoong stares at him with puppy eyes. "Dance practice was so tiring."

Yunho laughs, before giving Jaejoong a quick peck on the lips. "One round of soccer. We promised. Or Junsu might do something to your curtains again."

This earns a chorus a laughter from all of them, while the lamp tinkles inside Yunho's backpack. They exchange smiles with each other, as if they're sharing a secret, before slinging their shoulders onto each other.

"Yunho," Jaejoong whispers after. "I like this world."

Yunho smiles, and nods as well. They hobble into the car, before being carted away to their dorms, off to get some rest (and a round of soccer) before their performance the next day, as five members of Dong Bang Shin Ki, and as Yunho and Jaejoong - who are happier than ever before.
