"How can you work with stuff like that?" Piper took two steps back and covered her mouth and nose with her arm. The stench of the dead body permeated the air.
"It's my job," Temperance answered, her eyes never leaving the corpse.
"Do you know what happened to it?"
"Her. She was female, probably in her late twenties. Right now, though, I can't tell what killed her."
Piper sighed, then regretted the action when the smell made it past her shield. She turned to her sisters, who also had the same horrified expressions on their faces. Finally, she looked heavenward to avoid seeing the decomposed body.
"You might want to check this out, though. I have no idea what it is." Piper dropped her gaze in time to see Temperance toss an amulet to her. She caught it and studied the strange markings on the small, circular object.
"Looks like there's a magical reason for us to be here, after all. We'll check our Book of Shadows and see what we can find." Piper turned to her youngest sister. "Paige, get us out of here."
Paige nodded, the three sisters joined hands, and were gone in a sparkle of blue lights.
Temperance shook her head as she watched them go. "There has to be a scientific reason they can do that," she muttered before returning to the body.
