My anime-themed garden has a new addition!

So my moonflower vine Cheza's been growing for about a month now. Yes, I'm one of those people who name their plants and talk to them. And aside from the aphids ruining her most recent leaves and pretty much disfiguring them, she's the most low-maintenance plant I've ever had. Turns out moonflower vines are famous for being virtually indestructible in the gardening world--some kinds have even become weeds--so I made a good choice picking one of the non-weed strains.

Everyone says the smell of Ipomoea Alba is indescribably awesome, to the point of saying, "If they could bottle the scent of moonflowers, I'd buy it!" so I'm obviously looking forward to Cheza's actual flowers.

Also, I finally decided to try and grow those sleeping ferns (Mimosa pudica) I got from Fanime 2007's Origin promotion thing, and one of the seeds sprouted yesterday! It looks nothing like a fern yet, obviously, but it sprouted WAY earlier than I thought it would--the tutorial said it would take at least two weeks, and it's only been about four days. Of course, I actually planted five seeds and the aforementioned sprout is the only one so far, but I personally think it's because I was nagging them to grow or else I'd consider them a failure and buy some starter plants if they wanted to be sods like that.

It went from a centimeter and a half to almost two centimeters overnight, which is a good sign because it's growing, but foreboding because it's probably trying to spite me. I should probably apologize to it.

...I said I TALKED to plants. I didn't say I was always nice to them.

So if anyone else has a thing for naming their plants, what should I call the sleeping fern? I haven't watched Origin, so I'm thinking of calling it Marluxia to suit its spitefulness and the fact that it moves when you touch it. Some people find it creepy, but most (including me) find it incredibly cool. Plus, Mimosa pudica's flowers are an eerily similar shade to Marluxia's hair--people say they're cotton-candy pink, but it's actually pretty moderate; it does look pretty bright against the green.
