I've gotta say, I had never really thought about how easily Ritsu gave up over that one little laugh when being told he was gross and annoying still had him coming back for more. It's definitely a little strange. But perhaps it's just that by that time, Ritsu had assumed they were dating and Takano had repeatedly whispered words of love to him, whereas during Takano Masamune no Baai, Ritsu was... maybe more willing to accept that Takano wasn't going to like him back and that he would just be that gross, annoying freshman who was in love with his senpai. Still seems a little far-fetched. :/
But I totally understand what you mean about sympathizing more with Takano than Ritsu, despite the latter being the man character. I'm always excited when Ritsu actually shows some genuine emotion other than anger or stubborn denial. Like when he admitted he loved Takano to Yokozawa, I was deliriously happy! I know he's capable of showing what's going on beneath his

Good point about the timelines--you're probably right in that by the times Ritsu got the nerve to ask if Saga liked him back (which probably admittedly took a lot of guts) he was a lot more invested in their relationship than he had been initially when it was just, "I should be thrilled to get to even be in Saga-sempai's presence!!". I get the feeling that Saga was never really vocal about his feelings, being a typical teenage boy XD and especially since he probably never got a lot of loving exposure as a kid himself. His expressions of his feelings were probably more, umm, physical 8D;; and he just assumed that Ritsu would understand "hey I don't go down on just any little kouhai" XD
GOSH I can't wait for more of Ritsu opening up nnggghhhh~~~
I root for Masamune from the beginning because there are things I really, really want to have a second chance and I'm thrilled to see how Masamune tries to make his second chance work. Admittedly he could have handled the situation better. I mean revealing his identity and then declaring "I'll make you fall in love with me" to an ex whom he just met again for around two weeks is too much "door in the face" and merits some WTF. Also as a reviewer has said, his pursuing strategy ranges from sexual harrassment to violent sexual harrassment, which too easily breeds spite and just makes it easy for Ritsu to play the victim when fancy strikes the guy (how he jumped Ritsu in chapter 2 did make me doubt my support for him a bit). However, I do think he truly tries his best, desperately, and as the series goes on, it shows that he is much clumsier and more emotional than he pretends to be

I love Takano too, and Ritsu does annoy me in so many ways, but there's a lot to think about Ritsu.
I think the reason Takano's so willing to forget everything, is because he's always assumed that it was his own fault and crappy character that ended the whole thing -- and when he realized it wasn't actually the truth and he still has a shot at Ritsu - the first person who actually truly got under his skin, I guess he's willing to overlook everything. Takano grew up into someone who knows what he wants and goes after it, and knowing that it was all just a misunderstanding, and knowing deep down that Ritsu reciprocates these feelings is enough for him. Plus, honestly, the fact that Takano never gets to actually know Ritsu in a way that makes him seem that he's interested in just more than sex, is pretty unnerving. Doesn't help everyone seems to know about Takano and his various sexual conquests. What if Ritsu's just another one on the list? What if Takano thinks that he wants Ritsu, but later finds him irritating when the challenge of
