"You don't understand, Mr Hatter," sighed Alice, sipping delicately on her tea, "it's not that I don't want to be a well-behaved lady, but what if- just what if, one day I behaved properly and held myself right for once, and someone falls in love with me? That would be a horrid thing to happen!"
"Ah, then you would be dishonestly appropriating his love won't you? What an honest attitude!" The Mad Hatter nodded approvingly.
"It's not that I'm worried about," replied Alice.
"That you will have to keep up the pretence thereafter?" Tried the Hatter again.
"No, but when that happens, who will love me then?"
