SUSAN, BABY.

OKAY OKAY SO. I'm finally not quite on a horrible deadline for everything! AND OMG this just gets better and better upon rereadings!

"I've never been brave." Not even in Narnia, really.
SUSAN. BABY. ahgklsdhgksdjgljsd

she used to be afraid of different things.

you are so freakin' awesome for writing this, seriously! Susan is Practical and so so good for the Doctor! she keeps him a little bit grounded, and she's a little disapproving but can't help loving him anyways and AHGSLDKGHSDLGKJ this is just so beautiful and well-written! thank youuu!

Heh. I read your comment just five minutes or so after I'd posted my fic for Yuletide yup, very late in replying, that'd be me and it made me feel a bit less nervous about my recipient not liking her fic, so thank you very much for the confidence-boost.

Delighted you liked it so well, seeing as how it's all your fault. *g*

Oh, I like this; it has the feel of a winter thaw; the slow warming of Susan's broken heart. I like how Susan is Not Impressed, practical and with growing affection, rather like Romana.

The attitude seemed to fit her somehow - and I must confess I enjoyed writing her in that way. *g*

Oh, this was brilliant. A life with the Doctor is exactly what Susan needs. I always felt so sorry for her, cut off from Narnia, but now I'm a little jealous. This was a really lovely piece, too.

I think a bit of practical mindedness may be just what the Doctor needs as well, so once I got poked, they really seemed quite a suitable match.

Thank you! They make for an interesting pair of characters, I think.

Ooh! This is a really neat crossover to see, and I always love Susan fic. It's tough to see Susan so cold, but I think that's probably the sort of place she would be in, at that point, and I think both the Doctor and Susan have some healing to do- how interesting to see them do it together. *is reminded AGAIN of need for Narnia icon*

For the general idea, I fully blame be_themoon but once I started thinking about it, somehow it kind of came together and worked.

Now that there are movies, there's also lots of shiny icons, I've noticed. Mind, haven't got one either. So many fandoms, so few icon-slots, eh?

So few icon slots, indeed.

You know what else seems to go together? I may have to write this fic, if its a fic at all- Susan Pevensie and Sarah Jane Smith. Both ladies have these fantastic adventures and really get an experience with worlds that are utterly different, and how to embrace that. And then, suddenly, they're just left in an ordinary world, alone, with memories they can't tell anyone about or even be sure it was all real. I was watching the first ep of Sarah Jane Adventures again last night and seeing Sarah's loneliness, it struck me as being the same kind of thing.

A compare-and-contrast would make for a quite interesting read, I think - also considering their ages and personalities.

Go on, you know you want to write it!
