[Isabel] Human contact (tag George)nohatmattAugust 24 2006, 23:48:45 UTC
A fair amount of time had passed before Isabel saw any activity. After a little while of standing against a tree, she'd found a large fallen branch to sit on, partially concealed, so that she wouldn't be immediately spotted in the dimness under the canopy by somebody coming out of the door, which she had concluded led into some sort of underground bunker - there was simply nowhere else for it to go, unless it concealed a small cave.
But then the door opened, and a brown-haired woman emerged, apparently enjoying the sunlight and outside air. Isabel tensed as the woman walked almost directly towards her, but she swerved aside near the trees to settle herself on a large rock and observe the scenery. Isabel watched her for a few minutes, motionless and almost afraid to breathe, but the woman continued to look quite normal, and although Isabel knew this didn't necessarily mean anything as she looked quite normal herself - and so did Nicholas - she found it reassuring, and after a little longer the time seemed right to reveal herself.
She stood and walked out of the trees, a few metres from the woman so as not to startle her unduly. The woman noticed her immediately of course, and there was a tension there, the kind of instant suspicion Isabel thought might apply when you considered anybody you didn't know to be a threat. Isabel stayed quite still and attempted to appear nonthreatening.
"Hi," she said. "I hope you speak English. My name is Isabel. I... I woke up on the beach this morning. I was on a ship, and there was a storm, and I think I got washed to shore. I don't know what happened to anybody else, you're the first person I've seen, and I don't know where this is. Can... can you help me?"

George started when a stranger stepped out of the treeline and walked toward. (Jesus Christ!) George thought. (I can't fucking believe this! Another castaway?) George studied the stranger for a moment. (Another gorgeous blonde with a killer figure. Double fuck!)
"Yeah," George said. "I speak English. Almost everybody here does. My name is George. George Lass."
She paused, eyeing Isabel speculatively. Given the situation here, the chances of Isabel being a normal person with no weird powers and no mysterious past were near enough zero as to make no difference. George didn't feel like doing the Mystery Dance yet again. So.
"So what's your story, Isabel? Alien? Pyschic? Time traveller? Undead? Demon hunter? Vampire slayer? Stop when I'm getting warm."
[Isabel] Incredulousness (tag George)nohatmattAugust 25 2006, 07:35:40 UTC
"It's good to meet you, George," Isabel said, offering the other woman a smile. "When I woke up my first thought was that there was nobody else here, and then I found that door you came out of and I started to worry about what kind of people I might find." Although from what this woman was saying, she was either delusional or there were some extremely weird people here. Being an alien herself, Isabel could hardly discount reports of others, although during the last few years they had often found supposed alien encounters which were anything but.
Psychics, though? Undead? Demon hunters? Vampire slayers? It was perhaps unfortunate that a memory from reading the book which they'd found in the ship came to her. The Granolith was capable of time travel, and if one such time machine could be built, so could others. She managed a dismissive laugh.
"Oh, no," she said. "I'm just an ordinary girl." She paused, wondering if she could risk sounding too interested. "Do you mean to imply that there are aliens, psychics and time travellers here?"

"Oh, no, I'm just an ordinary girl."
George gazed her, not bothering to hide her skepticism. (Uh huh,) she thought. ('Ordinary girl' my shiny metal ass!)
"That's your story and your sticking to it, huh? Okay." George shrugged.
"And--yeah. Aliens, psychics, time travelers, all kinds of things. C'mon," she added, hopping up from her seat. "Let's go inside. I'm missing the air conditioning already, and you can meet everybody."
[Isabel] Into the bunker (tag George, anyone in the bunker)nohatmattAugust 25 2006, 20:30:25 UTC
She's got to be kidding. Nobody's that calm if they think there are real aliens around.
Something else George said caught Isabel's attention.
"That place is air conditioned? Oh thank God! This heat is really starting to get to me."
She followed the other woman to the door, and down into the bunker. Cool air washed over her. The neatness and coolness of the bunker seemed in stark contrast to the environment outside. Isabel looked around curiously.
[Faith] A Slayer-y Welcome (tag Isabel, George, open)fikgirlAugust 25 2006, 20:45:11 UTC
"What is this place?"
A voice from around the corner made Faith stop short before walking into the cafeteria. (Ok, I guess the Beach Club finally made it this way.)
She ducked around the corner curious to see who from the Beach Camp made it to the bunker and actually stopped in surprise. George walked beside a hot blonde, who looked dishelved, tired, and like she'd been tossed overboard and washed up on shore then beat with sand.
(You have got to be fucking kidding me,) Faith thought.
"This is Club Med. Who the hell are you?" Faith asked curiously. Then she glanced at George, "She's alive, right? I didn't suddenly get Ghost Vision, did I?"

"Club Med? Witty." Isabel studied the young woman who had appeared from around the corner. Dark hair. Pretty. She looked fit, in an effortless and highly enviable sort of way.
"I'm at least as alive as you are. Something of a surprise after last night, but I'm not intending to complain about it." She took a breath, and smelled bacon and coffee. Her stomach rumbled loudly.

"Hey, Faith," George said. "This is Isabel. I found her outside. She got washed overboard from a ship and wound up here. Anywhere else I'd find that awfully coincidental, but...." George shrugged.
"Isabel, this Faith. She's a Vampire Slayer. Faith, Isabel. She's just an ordinary girl," George said. "...she says," she added quietly. With Isabel a step behind her and unable to see her face, George rolled her eyes and put on her skeptical face for Faith.

"Right. Ordinary girl from a shipwreck." Faith paused a beat, "Without a ship. Yep, just another day on Mindfuck Island."
She grinned at Isabel, decided not to freak her out by flirting with her -- (Hey, I'm learning) -- and jerked her head towards the cafeteria. "So, Isabel, sounds to me like you could use some food. There's bacon and eggs, and plenty of eye candy.
"Daniel's briefing. Or debriefing," Faith looked at George. "I guess briefing, 'cause if he was debriefing, I'd definitely be helping."
George rolled her eyes and Faith feigned hurt, "Oh tell me you wouldn't look too?"
