[Doctor] I'll take door number two for 300 purplerhino October 3 2006, 15:41:44 UTC
The Doctor walked into the ‘observation’ building and nodded to Daniel and Jon. He looked over their shoulders at the view screens. He saw Aiden, Scott, and what he’d recently learned was Kenzaki, ‘interviewing’ Rom.

“He likes to play games. Any reaction, especially a negative one will be perceived as power to him. It means he’s managed to manipulate them and gain some kernel of control. His kind loves control. Thrive on it. Anyone goin’ in there has to keep that in mind. Any loss of control, violent or upset reaction will be seen as a point to him in his idea of this game.”

He double checked the wiring, making sure Rodney had assured this facility was also independent. No outside feeds or bugs. No remote signals to let others view what was going on here.

He motioned down the hall a bit. “Mind if I have a go at Doctor Sato Saki? She’ll know the most about the physical aspects of whatever they were trying to achieve.”

"Help yourself, Doctor," Daniel nodded. He clapped Jon on the shoulder, "I think that it's all under control in here. I have smaller fish to fry."

Jon frowned. "Um, Daniel? I think it's 'bigger fish.' Yeah, 'bigger fish.' I'm a fishing enthusiast. Trust me."

"And I'm the linguist," Daniel grinned. "I meant, smaller fish. It's actually pretty amazing what the little people know and are willing to share when given the proper . . . encouragement."

"You mean the guards and nurses?"

Daniel touched his nose. He looked back at the monitors and frowned thoughtfully. "Just keep an eye on Scott, okay? He's a little close to the subject, and we don't want him getting carried away until we have what we need."

"Carried away, bad," he agreed, watching the screen as Burn took care of the situation. "'Encouraging,' good. Got it. Though it's kinda weird to hear you say that."

Daniel shrugged, as did Jon in response. A lot had happened over the last decade.

"Burn can obviously handle herself, Kenzaki's all scarified.. and if that fails, I've got this little number," the teenager continued, patting his Wraith stunner happily. "I'll keep an eye on the Doc there too. Scott's not the only one who's close to the subject."

The Doctor waited until the barrier was dropped before stepping into the room where Dr. Sakai was ‘housed’. The rooms were not exactly comfortable, but he could honestly say he’d been in worse. He had a pretty extensive knowledge of the inside of jail/prison cells from one end of the universe to the other. At least there was a shelf to sit and lay down on… made of rock not covered in moss and some sort of green mold in the one corner ( ... )

Sato looked up at the man's entry. (No, not a man, an alien. A time traveler.) She didn't know the specifics, but she knew that he wasn't human. Not that specifics regarding him were of any interest to her; he wasn't one of her subjects, nor was his companion.

Though her heart raced, she was determined to show no fear. Holding her head up, Sato simply stared back.

Actually, the Doctor could stare for hours. He was mentally multitasking in the relative quiet, although there was no sign of anything but intense scrutiny of the woman. It was the kind of scruiteny one might expect of an entimologist examining a rather interesting bug. And he was aware of her, and noting her heart rate, body temperature, respiration, pupil dilation... all of it ( ... )

That was an easy one. If all this freak wanted was information and dirt on Carlson, then that she could supply. In spades. Whatever helped her cause after all.

"I don't know her name. A woman. A powerful woman. He never called her by name. I don't know if he knows her name."

[OOC: Sorry, my DHARMA Scientists channeling is weak these past few days.]

Truth. Interesting. That actually ment everyone here was considered expendable by those in charge. Did they realize that yet?

"A powerful woman. Money, connection. Connections that shouldn't be accessable to people in your time. You lot are much too primitive, babes in the woods, really. So someone in charge has contact with not only dangerous alien races, but time technology. And you never questioned that? Not even to yourself?"

"So tell me, Doctor Sato Sakai... why did you go into medicine? What made you decide to be a doctor?"

Sorry for the delay. Go ahead and wing this. I don't have anything specific planned for responses other than the info she already gave.

He'd kept at her for ninty minutes, exactly, from the moment she first spoke. He'd ask a couple questions about the project, then a personal one about her. The questions seemed random ( ... )
