Journal sample: We're grounded. Typical. Kenny never heard when I said we were gonna be. Again, typical.
He's up on his bed and sulking apparently, because I can hear him punching in the buttons of his hand-game from across the room. I'm also totally ignoring it until he cools off or explodes in a string of 'who-does-he-think-he-is', 'I'm-so-done-being-treated-like-a-toddler' or 'we-didn't-do-anything-wrong's. He undoubtedly will, give him a breather, maybe two. And then he'll lay there, deflated, because he knows father had been right and that if we hadn't followed him (like he said we shouldn't), he wouldn't have had a bruised shoulder and I wouldn't have needed to go mutant to shield his head from smashing into a pancake on the concrete. It probably won't sink in he nearly died till later. So I'll just... scoot over in my bed to begin with, I know he'll be crawling in there beside me.
It's fine though. I'll just talk to him into saying sorry in the morning and we'll be un-grounded, pronto. Maybe we can get up early and start breakfast, too, for good measure... Yeah, that's a good idea. I'll go set my alarm.
Tag sample: Devlin bit his lip. The forecast ever so imminent was: 'trouble'. He'd stopped wondering why he played along long ago, though, because the answer was simple; it was fun.
He tip-toed across the floor though, careful to stay in the blind spot of the surveillance camera. His back plastered to the wall he inched along it, quiet as a mouse. He could do this. He'd done it before. Being sneaky was his specialty.
Another corner turned and the darkness was thicker there, only the faint glow of the city's midnight skyline seeping in through the panoramic roof as the outlines of the storage came into view. Another look left, then right, just to be sure, before he picked his pace, bare feet barely heard against the smooth floor. He reached above, standing on tip-toe because he was just barely tall enough to reach the shelf, and snagged his loot, quickly, two hand-fulls, before he was on his way, swift like a thief.
Two corridors and a camera avoided later, he was elbowing the button for the compressed-air doors to fly open. Light enveloped him and he winced slightly, but disappeared inside without a second thought. Grinning he threw a packet onto his partner-in-crime's lap, before opening his own with a pop.
“You're going next time, though,” he remarked, deep blue eyes sharing a glimmer of success with the neon green. Oh yes - ice-cream always tasted better after midnight.
Anything else: I'm... not a native English speaker, but I usually cover it up pretty well? ^^; Do feel free to poke me if I mess up anywhere though, yeah? =) Also. Sorry it's so long. XD
