Character Name: Gwendolyn Tennyson Race: Human/Anodite Age: 18 Appearance/Personality: A tall, brilliant redhead, Gwen Tennyson has matured into a bit of a know-it-all, but is actually quite affectionate (no matter how much she denies it). She's sensible and quick-witted, and is usually the only thing that keeps Ben from getting himself killed, be it saving the world or trying to make toast. Her style is a little on the preppy side, but she wears fashionable, functional clothes, and let's face it: she looks damn good in them. Her green eyes echo that of her cousin Ben, but that's pretty much all they have in common other than saving the world.
History: Gwen Tennyson never exactly had a soft spot for her doofus cousin, and when she got dragged along with him and their grandpa Max to go camping the entire summer, she pretty much kissed her sanity goodbye. But when the Omnitrix latched itself onto Ben's wrist, a bond grew between them whether they liked it or not. While she lived in the shadow of her cousin's heroics, she developed an interest in magic, which eventually turned into the first signs of her Anodite powers. Over the years, she managed to develop her powers into what they are today, and when paired with her karate abilities, are more than formidable. Now that Ben is back in business, she and her cousin have become much closer, and are surprisingly personable toward one another. Unless, of course, Ben is asking her for smoothie money again; then it's open season. When a certain Kevin E. Levin joined the duo, Gwen began to develop a crush on the notorious teen. In light of learning of a certain someone's affection for her cousin, however, she's backed off that road and has moved onto the exciting highway of potential blackmail. Whether that certain someone has learned of his OWN affection, however, is still up to debate.
Journal sample: A few things. 1. Cash keeps trying to get me to tutor him in Chemistry. Creepy much? I don't care how much he pays me, I am not teaching him how to use chemicals.
2. What is so great about some stupid live-action kids' movie? It's all I ever hear about these days. Although, the guy supposed to be playing some samurai was Gerard in that romantic comedy I watched last week, so I guess if I end up getting dragged to go see it, I'll have SOMETHING to look at.
In other news: Ben's begging for smoothie funds again. Give me a break. Even the savior of the universe can get a job.
Tag sample: Gwen smirked. "Oh there's no way you're getting out of this now," the grin on her face crept into her voice as she turned the page. The pillows shifted as she settled deeper into her seat, cracking the back of her uncooperative romance novel.
Her cousin poked his head through her doorway, thinking she'd spoken to him. He opened his mouth to speak, but she cut him off, slamming the book behind a pillow. "What? Nothing! I didn't say anything! I don't know what you're talking about! Just get out!" Her eyes flashed and she slammed the door shut from across the room with an angry pink fist.
Ben's footsteps faded as he walked down the hall, and she breathed a sigh of relief. Pulling her book back out, she frowned slightly. She should know better than to read her novels when Ben was snooping around her house. If he ever saw her reading Jude Deveraux, she'd never live it down.
Anything else: She knows karate. Don't make her use it on you.
