Appearance:
Naoto is a petite woman but her size does not in any way account for her strength. She has dark locks that can sometimes appear black and other times brown; all depending on the lighting. Her eyes are about as dark as her locks and as strong as her muscles. They are often described as piercing; always brooding over her past, carrying a heavy load she refuses to let go. Her pale face usually carries an apathetic expression on default. The most memorable of her attributes is the scar that takes the shape of an x on her chest. She doesn't make a habit of trying to cover it up but the clothing she usually wears end up doing that somehow. Adorning her lithe frame is a black jacket too large for her. Underneath she wears a tight black shirt slightly lighter in color. This shirt which is daringly low cut tends to come unbuttoned at times revealing her scar. She also wears gloves to keep her hands from getting too damaged while she wields the katana and matching black boots.
Personality:
She may appear fragile and timid but Naoto is anything but. She is determined and fierce when necessary. She prefers to let her actions speak for her rather than her tongue. Naoto is also powered by her anger. If not for the promise of revenge Naoto would be beyond broken. She believes her teacher knew this and thus masked his identity with that of her parent's killers to give her purpose. She isn't very talkative and prefers not to talk about her past even though it's all that's ever on her mind.
Instead she focuses on her goal of finding the killer. She is intelligent and kind. She has a special weakness for small children or anyone weak without a protector. Others who abuses these people or she just detest outright are not spared from the sharpness of her blade. Though she is very serious she can in fact smile, it is very rare but it can happen. She has a very dry sense of humor.
Naoto can be kind of anti-social. She was raised with a man she thought to be the killer of her parents and another [perverted] student. They did not account for good conversation or company. She rarely lets anyone close enough to her to find out her real personality.
Abilities:
Her mentor was the first person to put a blade in her hand or at least give her incentive to fight. From the day after he rescued her she mounted her attack. Though she was thwarted every time she began to learn from her mistakes. She found herself mocking his style and trying to implement it to her advantage. This gave her a broad range of abilities from being agile to building admirable muscles for a woman of her stature. She found she became quite talented with all sorts of knives and blades. Not only that but she has a good knowledge of hand-to-hand combat as well. She values her katana most of all because it is the clue to finding her parent's killer.
Weaknesses:
Naoto's main weakness is her kindness and compassion for others. If the right tricks are used it's easy to force her guard down. Another one of her weakness is her past. She'll do anything to learn more about and find the killer.
History:
Naoto's history starts out with her lying under her parents bloody, mangled bodies. She was so traumatized by her parents murdered that she couldn't remember anything from her past. All she remembers is the blade the murderer used to slice up her parents and leave an x-shaped scar on her chest. This murderer then took her in. He raised her and fought with her, allowing her to fuel her hatred. Everyday she tried to kill him, to exact revenge for her parents and everyday she failed. He gave her the name Naoto because she had no other. The little girl she had been was long dead anyway.
Naoto's strength began to increase, along with some intense feelings she was unsure about. She just assumed it was her undying hatred. Either way, her "mentor" affected her greatly. One day she came home to find someone else had taken his life, another student. Before she knew it Naoto was attacking him enraged. She should have been celebrating and thankful that she was finally free. But Naoto realized she was not angry because he had taken her mentor's life before she had the chance but that he had taken it all. She engaged in battle with his assailant, Magato, and demonstrated quiet efficiently all the skills she learned from her mentor. In the end, Naoto stuck the winning blow. Magato, before his escape, told her that her mentor was not the murdered at all. He was just a man who had given her purpose and had saved her life. So she decided to take his name [and his sword] and set off to find her true parent's murderer, the person Magato had described.
During this quest she found herself all mixed up with Heine, Badou, and Nill after she rescued the girl. Ironically these were just the people she was searching for to help in her mission to find the murderer.
