Comment on this post and I will choose seven interests from your profile. You will then explain what they mean and why you are interested in them. Post this along with your answers in your own journal so that others can play along.
Alcohol
A beverage containing Alcohol.
Okay. I get the impression Liz will kill me when she sees this on my interests list. But yes, I am a teenager, so yes I do occasionally like to indulge of a night of drinking. It was also present at lots of my social functions when I wrote that as an interest, so I suppose it is also a representative of my social life (especially during yr12).
Australia
A country in the southern hemisphere.
When I was in France, I really missed the culture of Australia. People are just friendly here! In france I ached for everything being relaxed and laid back...
Basketball
A sport played between two teams with a ball.
A game i've played and loved since year 8:) I joined a team on a whim and it payed off. I played basketball every year since 2002 now. I'm not a champ, but its still alot of fun (especially winning finals!)
Cactus
A short spiky plant.
I collect cacti :) I think they're so cute, can't explain why, and they're easy to look after! I don't have to worry about forgetting them for a day or two and them promptly shrivelling up.
Classical music
I find classical music very relaxing...I often listen to it in the car because it kind of invades my ear drums without me needing to listen to it actively. Also there are some beautiful sonatas that put me to sleep everytime.
Stravinsky
A composer.
In year 11 I think, the school orchestra played a piece by Stravinsky at the main concert for the year, the Winter Symphony. As for most musical pieces that I initially struggle with, once this piece had come together, I developed great appreciation and attachment to the piece and the composer. I never want to have to learn that piece again, but it was good to be able to perform it.
Youth group
A group of youth aged people coming together to socialise.
From year 7-12, nearly all of my friday evenings were spent unfailingly at Glen Waverley Uniting Church Youth Group. In year 10, they formed my core social circle. I spent alot of time relaxing there. I'm not so involved now, but for a long time, it was a regular feature in my life that provided quite a bit of stability.
