i have not written here for a long time but i am compelled to simply mention this ryan adams show i am currently listening to, 6/22/07.
cause it's real fucking good.
and it makes me want to listen to lots of ryan adams.
there is more but, eh.
i want to hug this concert.
ed. i think because it's from this particular tour. it's in support of his latest album, easy tiger, which is even cataloged as "contemporary country" by some. so, even the old songs he plays have to be his old alt-country stuff, as opposed to his more "poppy" music which would sound incredibly out of place against the country.
also perhaps because it was a show in toronto.
and the recording, a mix down of soundboard and audience mics. absolutely PERFECT. because you can hear everything clearly, yet it still sounds like a live show. and whoever his band is, they're fantastic. mmm pedal steel...
i do like his poppier stuff too. perhaps "raucous" is the correct word. but, wow. pedal steel solo. this is gorgeous.
