Alright, time for some contribution motivation! We're definitely planning on running a ficathon here in the not too distant future (for those of you waiting for an answer) but for now, I bring you our first community challenge.
Our challenges will be a little different to most. Where you're usually given one prompt per challenge, we're doing it in two sections. The first lists 5 fandoms and invites you to pick and choose any ladies you like to pair for your work. The second section describes a prompt which could be in the form of a theme, a phrase, a word, a song or an image and you can apply any pairing you so desire. The two sections can be entered either/or, separately or in conjunction. Whatever you like :)
We plan on running these challenges every two weeks so you'll have until the new challenge is posted to respond.
Art, vids and fics are all welcome and equally encouraged. And if you can think of any other type of creative response? We'll be glad to see/hear/smell/touch/taste it!
The most creative, the most striking, the most memorable pairings will get a banner to commemorate their awesomeness. So this doesn't mean you have to be an amazing writer/artist/vidder! As much as I love high quality work, real inspiration in pairings and ideas counts. So please take this as encouragement for anyone to respond to challenges - it all means more femslash cross!
So without further ado...
challenge #1.
Part One
Women's Murder Club, Private Practice, Heroes, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Stargate Atlantis
Part Two
Since its out first challenge and I do love a cliché, our prompt is Firsts. Any kind. First meeting, first time, first kiss, first date, first homicide, first leather collar, first apocalypse. Do with it what you will.
*I should clarify here, in case people have been getting the wrong idea, that you don't have to derive your pairing from the above fandoms to respond to this challenge! Part one is just to help match up some new pairings to be inspired by. If you want to write for something separate, go right ahead. If you want it to be considered as part of this challenge, though, work the prompt in somehow. Otherwise, we'll always accept spontaneous fic!
{You have until February 2nd to respond.} That's your February 2nd, 11:59 pm, not mine. Australian Eastern Standard Time isn't something burned into everyone's brains, I know that now :D Comment with queries and questions, I live to serve!
