The meeting had been entirely by chance. Donna had been at home as always when her mum asked her to pick up a Christmas cake from the shop. Donna had agreed and after she had gotten dressed in a tight blue dress and decent coat and scarf she left. Her long coppery-ginger hair was pulled back in a tight ponytail and she walked calmly down to the local shop.
“Excuse me…” A timid woman had approached out of an alleyway and she looked a little nervous. Her long browny-copper hair fell loose and tangled and she wore only a skimpy white dress, her blue eyes shining with nerves. “Can you help me…??”
“I…” Donna had turned to give the woman her usual Christmas mouthful and instead found herself asking. “I can try, what do you need?”
“A place to stay for a start…”The woman was shivering and Donna made a snap decision, leading her away. “Can I come with you?”
“That’s what you are doing.” The reply was snappy and Donna moved fast to get the woman inside, heading for the clothing racks and picking a coat out for the woman before she went to get the Christmas cake.

“What’s your name anyway?” Donna asked after a long pause.
“Jenny, Jenny Lewis.” The woman spoke quickly, clipped, sounding a little posh. “You?”
“Donna Noble.” Donna sighed, leading the slimmer woman out of the market at a speed, noticing the crowds beginning to gather, she looked up as they made to enter the house and sighed. “Great… mistletoe.”
“What?” The shock and slight terror in Jenny’s voice made Donna laugh.
“Am I really so awful?”
“No, No… Not at all.” Jenny hurried to say then added. “I just… isn’t it a bit quick?”
“It’s just for show Jenny.” Donna sighed, pulling the woman closer and kissing her, not too shocked that she had done it. She’d been thinking about it for a while now, and Jenny wasn’t exactly ugly.
