Kairi leaned against the fence surrounding the carnival, eyes closed, listening. There were the sounds of faint screams of enjoyment in the distance, of rides whirring and bells ringing. There was also the occasional odd announcement over the pa system. Nobody listening would have thought there was much of anything out of the ordinary with this place. Even she thought it looked pretty normal, all things considered. She wondered about her friends back home, and Sora and Riku. Wherever they were now, at least they didn't have to worry about any place like this. Kairi didn't want them to come looking for her here.
After a few minutes of listening Kairi pushed off the fence, looking around for Kida. They were supposed to meet here, weren't they? Maybe he was on the other side of the carnival...or... She sighed quietly, laughing to herself. He would find her eventually.
