So Friday afternoon I departed from Gainesville for Orlando. I was very sad that Brandon couldn't come with me but he put his "Time away from work" form in too late & they ended up scheduling him to work. :( He tried asking anyone & everyone to switch with him but no one was available. Sucked major ass. Oh, also that day we finalized things with Harriet & her apartment thing. So B is out legally & Harriet has taken over his lease. Sweetness. After the apartment thing we went & got Brandon his passport, cuz, well, without it he's not gonna be getting to Japan. That turned out to be $200. Murder, I tell you. But it's worth it, cuz it'll be here within 10-14 working days. Otherwise it would have taken 4-6 weeks, which we don't have since we're leaving in a month. So anyway.
Back to Orlando. So after doing all these things & figuring that B is definitely not coming with me, we get home, I throw some clothes in a back & I leave. The drive is 2 hours & it goes by relatively quickly. The only traffic I hit is once I reach 192 which is the road that actually leads to Disney. I find the hotel, check in & call my mom. She's still about 3 hours away! So I get comfy in the room & watch TV. There's this show called "Going Tribal" which I'd never seen (my cable's been turned off for about 6 months, maybe longer) that I started watching & it was so friggin' cool. It's about this white guy that goes to all these different tribes in the world & lives with them for about a month & does everything they do & tries to get initiated into their tribe. The shit he had to do was crazy. From drinking cow's blood, to getting his septum pierced, to having (or trying to have, he never went through with it) his penis inverted & pushed back into his body. Craziness. Anyway. So around 10pm my mom finally makes it. She ended up going the wrong way & it took her an extra 30 mins or so to find her way back. Now, the reason she wanted me to go to Orlando was because my aunt Jobanna was visiting her in Miami & I haven't seen her in about 6 years. So my mom wanted me to get to know her husband & her 2 kids, Dariana, age 6, & Sebastian, age 2. So my aunt & clan were following my mom & they have the room next to me, my mom & my abuela. I meet the kids, they're scared of me, being I'm a stranger and all, and Jobanna gives me the most life-threatening hug I've ever gotten. But it's all good. We talk for a bit but the kids are tired, so they say goodnight.
So it's the 3 of us girls in the room. My mom ends up asking me if I ever got the grant to the Virgin Islands so I tell her about our Japan trip. I have to tell her that B's mom paid for the tickets, cuz if not, She'd be pissed that I used my financial aid money. But at least his mom is giving us $800, which we're using for train & hostels. So after telling her everything I could about our plans she seemed to be pretty excited & even asked me to bring her back something nice, like jewelry with jade in it or a smiling Buddah. So I was happy she didn't blow up on me or anything.
Next morning we have breakfast at IHOP. After, we head towards Magic Kingdom. It's 9:30 when we get there. We spend the day doing what everyone does at Disney: Go insane. Hehe. Yea. We go on rides, eat, push the kids around on their stroller, push my abuela around in her wheelchair. Fun times. My mom rode Space Mountain, which I'm sure she only did cuz her sister was there & Jobanna was definitely riding it. It was a blast. The only thing I bought there was a charm bracelet, with: the cheshire cat (for my bestest friend Ale), Ariel (The Little Mermaid), a "C" (for my name), "Love," a "B" (for Brandon's name), Tinkerbell, Marie (the white kitten from the Aristocats), and a cute little anime-style Minnie Mouse brushing her teeth, while a cat plays with her dental floss. It's the cutest thing ever. So yea. It was fun. We left the part at around 10ish. I was so tired, & it was cold, cuz it had been drizzling/raining the whole time. As soon as we got back to the hotel I crashed. Next morning I woke up at 8, & left for Gainesville at 9. I got there at 11, & after talking to B for a while, had to go to work at 12. Ahh, such is life.
So this past weekend was quite nice. Now I have to go study for a History test. Sayonara!
