I'm gonna go a few days back now and talk about my trip to Finland. As of now, I feel guilty. Again, for not writing more.
So why Finland? I went there with a choir, I'm singing in. We stayed with Finnish families and woke up practically in the middle of the night to go singing. How wonderful. Well nothing unusual actually..
Anyways, we made our way to Tallinn on Friday morning. The ship set sails (not really :P) at 11, I think.
It was the most terrible trip to Finland I've ever had. Thing is, Literature exam was on Monday and I had to study all the time. But it didn't quite work out, because I couldn't focus on one thing. To top all that, I felt sick, I didn't puke, but still. I think it was because I was reading Hamilton's ``Mythology``. Not because of the book, but rather because I was reading. On that ship I spent at least half an hour in the perfume shop, splashing perfumes everywhere:P That was fun. And in that shop I saw Lotte's (Estonian Nokia so far) Christmas figure. She looked like a reindeer. Horrible.
When we finally got to Finland, we went eating. No, really. We were constantly eating or singing. Then a four-hour shopping spree. That was tiring. That was in a huge shopping center, I went through ALL the shops, and got.. Nothing.
Later at that day, we finally met the families, who were accommodating us. They were superb! So friendly, humble, kind and fun. We had no difficulties what so ever. I had to go to bed reeeally early, because, as you know, I had to study. I did a little reading and suddenly felt the urge to throw the book out of the window. Seriously, I was reading one page of the book for almost half an hour and still not getting anything, that was written there. Then I decided to listen to some music. I can remember putting on my earplugs and that's about it..
The next day we had a long rehearsal and ate twice at some fancy restaurants, then had a fabulous concert. After some time killing, we went 'home'. That was one great evening. We watched ``Confessions Of A Shopaholic`` which was great btw and drank glogg. They made me feel as if I was at home.
The final day we had one performance and then went home. This time I didn't get sick. The ship was a way better one with a lot bigger perfume shop, so I spent even more time there.
When we got back to Estonia, it was cold. Freezing cold and snowing. Finally! I didn't like snow, but now I don't mind it.
Now, as I've written it all down, I feel, that it was one hell of a great trip. Even though it was to Finland and it was only for three days. It was memorable.
