just a quick update
Okay, so I was waiting on getting my pictures from Christmas break online and having that be my journal, but I'm just now getting around to figuring out how to do that. Hopefully I'll have some pictures up soon for your viewing pleasure :)
Christmas break was entirely too awesome, and would be very difficult to cover all aspects of it now that I've waited three weeks and so much has happened that I'm not sure where or how I would begin.
It was more of a break than I expected. We still had our clinical responsibilites during break, but I personally was only in the OR for one surgery during the span of three weeks (when I'm usually in 2 days/week and becoming 3 soon, due to Tae dropping out). Granted I was home for an entire week, but aside from that it was just plain slow in the OR. It made me very happy at the time, but the one case I was there for, which was near the end of break when I had already been out for about three weeks, was rough. Let's just say I did something wrong and had to throw away a $1000 perfusion pack. Whoops. I'm gonna keep track of how much money I'm costing the hospital while I'm in school. I broke an $8000 machine before Christmas break, did I mention that? So that's $9000 right there. That's more than my tuition for one year.
But enough about my clutziness. My next semester starts tomorrow. I have Medical Ethics and Pathology, but aside from those two, my other classes kinda just continue on from the first semester. Pharmacology, Perfusion, and Physiology. Last semester I got all A's, with the exception of Pharm, which I got a B in. Not too shabby, I must say.
Well, I did mean for this to be a quick update, and I fear that it could go on for sometime...
Oh! Just gotta mention one last thing. It's too bizarre to leave out. Five years ago on spring break in Toronto with Ang, Sara, and Amy we met a group of guys from Penn State. We danced in the bar with them, and found out they were staying in the same hotel as us so we stayed up all night in one of their rooms, just drinking and having fun. I kissed one of the guys, Steve. Really no big deal at the time, but..TURNS OUT...that same guy is now Ang's boss. She's been working for him for months now and we just figured it out. I even "met" him at her work holiday party and nothing clicked. She stumbled across his screen name, which (let me check)...haha...I still have in my buddy list because I never take anyone off of that thing. We were pretty much hysterical when she told me :) Small world, no?
P.S. Keith's gone a whole week without smoking! :)
