Congratulations for braving all sorts of perils and doing the historic first! I didn't even start on my 250 mile trek.

And esp. congratulations for still being married! (You ARE aren't you?!)

Love, from one of the locals herebouts.

Sounds like a good family gathering.
I once drove from LA to Oregon on Thanksgiving Sunday, something I will NEVER do again. Yikes.
It's good to see the occasional post from you Bill.

It was a good family gathering, Debbi.. and these kinds of occasional posts seems to be our style of public journal writing here.. Like most people, most of our life here in DC is pretty routine and uneventful (which for us is definitely a good thing). Our normal daily routine is just too boring for me as a journal writer to draw creative energy from. Any readers will feel the same. But if we go on some kind of little adventure the writing and picture taking becomes easy and fun to do. My principle aim is to record Patti & my own history for ourselves and others to look back upon as Merciless Time does its little job on us. But it is also my hope that at least some of our readers will get a little kick out of our sillinesses as well. :-)b

Ha! you this 200 and some odd miles is far? anonymous November 28 2005, 12:57:15 UTC
Try LA to Eugene. 1850 miles there and back.

it took us 3 HOURS to get out of LOS ANGELES! (That is under 50 miles, for those that don't know).

on the way home traffic on I-5 was backed up from SACRAMENTO to LA. we took some back roads that almost had us losing our lunch. but made it home in time for the simpsons.

happy turkey day.

substitute "THIS" with "THINK" it will make much more sense.

as in "you think 200 and some odd miles is far?"

as in i mock your small trip, as it pales in comparison to my massive trip.
