Non-Virtual friendships - how nice
Rather randomly an old friend called me out of the blue. We used to be really good mates at uni, and after we graduated in '02 we moved apart and drifted and haven't really spoken since.
So five years on she calls, because 'she's crap with all that internet stuff'. we could have chatted over facestalker/myarse etc and got close over a few weeks of spam, but we chatted on the phone for 2 hours and my god I wish I'd not lost touch with her. We both needed a good friend so much in the last year. Don't get me wrong we both have friends and I've been very lucky with how supportive and great my friends have been, but she especially seems to have had a really horrid time and I wish I'd been there for her.
So anyway we caught up, laughed a lot and rather than talking about it and forgetting again, we made plans right then and she's coming down for the bonfire night weekend, along with my mom (sound, fun, friend-mom) and we're all going to be at Alexandra Palace, drunk and disorderly.
Really really made my day.
