So about a week ago, I caught the last ten minutes of a Movie on Lifetime called Normal Adolescent Behavior. It looked OK from what I saw of it. Very Lifetimey. I only recognized Amber Tamblyn and that girl from One Tree Hill. Anyway, it's about a group of high school friends who decide only to have group sex with each other and no one else outside the group. I remembered reading about it on aintitcool a few months ago. I remembered the review called it a very mature and poignant look at teenage behavior without being exploitative about it. When I looked at imdb for more info about it, I saw that the film will be released next month on DVD but it will be released as ... HAVOC 2: Normal Adolescent Behavior. That's great on so many levels. I suppose the studio realized that they couldn't sell the movie on its own merits so might as well try to convince people that the chick from Joan of Arcadia shows her tits. It'll probably work seeing as the first Havoc is notable only for the scenes in which Anne Hathaway shows her tits. It also fits into a great subgenre of movies that is finished movies that are rechristened as a sequel to a movie that it has absolutely nothing in common with. The last time I remember that happening was with 8MM2.
Also, I can't believe that Dragon Wars is actually a real movie that is actually coming out. A few weeks ago, Hugh and I saw the full-length preview to it before Skinwalkers. Since Hugh and I were the only people in the theater, I became convinced that by entering Theater 12 at the St. Charles 18 Cinema, we had entered into a parallel universe where a film with crappy CGI dragons can be released into theaters despite having no recognizable stars other than Darrell from the Office and apparently, one of the guys from Skinwalkers. You can imagine how shocked I was to see that Dragon Wars or (D-War as they apparently insist on calling it) is an actual movie. That's just wrong.
