your disciples are riddled with metaphors.
He swallows his thoughts, "It's good to see you too, Eva," finding her fingers he threads them for a moment and watches the memory spread over the curve of her mouth; rpf: daniel craig with splashes of nicole kidman and eva green. r, 429 words.
written with the prompt dark/angsty for
rpf_raunchfest. just so we're clear, i do honestly love nicole, and if she sounds at all undesirable during this, it wasn't my specific intention, just the way it panned out. daniel craig is less of a whiny bitch than i'd hoped, too.
He doesn't feel like icon status fits him, the sleeves are too tight and it feels just a little too short in places; plus, there are people who hate him now.
Though, James Bond does deserve some thanks, he supposes.
There isn't much ado about The Invasion, though he doesn't really bother to wonder why; Nicole Kidman smiles at him from the edge of the second film set they've been on together, dressed in Mrs. Coulter's best, and he pretty much forgets all about it (she probably has too).
Lord Asriel isn't helping his suit fit any better.
At the premiere Nicole is all quiet grace on his left, and he cracks out a grin when he sees another familiar face - her figure coloured in with sequined black, the red on her lips a shock and leaving a stain he can feel on his cheek that she rubs at with a damp thumb.
"God, I'm sorry. It's lovely to see you." He won't tell her even the thought of her voice and the ghost of seduction in her smile is getting him hot enough that he can't explain it away on the heat of the late November air.
He swallows his thoughts, "It's good to see you too, Eva," finding her fingers he threads them for a moment and watches the memory spread over the curve of her mouth.
"Aren't these things funny?" He forgets for a moment she's Bertolucci's little French girl - the secure span of his hand across her back her safeguard through weeks of Bond promotion. But he stops after that, or he'll remember too much.
(don't stop don't stop don't f-)
He laughs a little insincerely and they move on, the warmth of her hand lingering on his skin.
(-ucking stop, daniel.)
"She's strange, isn't she?" he thinks there might almost be an edge on her voice, her hair sweeping across his shoulder as she turns to watch Eva walk away.
"I've always found her endearing." He doesn't elaborate on that thought, and hears well, I suppose finding events funny could be endearing with a shrug of her shoulders at the end. He bumps her arm with his, an eyebrow raised just slightly, and she giggles when she looks at him, matching his crooked smile.
For a moment, he is severely depressed that he isn't dating either of them, and his hand slides to the small of Nicole's back. You wait too long, mate.
The flash of a red-lipped smile haunts the back of his mind, and he sighs. You wait way too long.
