He IS sweet. Ollie definitely has his sweet moments, and I hope they can fix things too! Though in my perfect world, they do. And I'm pretty sure that DC hasn't given up the ghost on them either. They may stay apart for a few years, but I'm pretty certain they'll reunite at some point. If Oliver's death didn't keep them apart, this won't.

Plus, they've both mentioned regrets over how things ended in their new respective titles. (and Dinah even told Helena to tell Babs and Ollie I love them in a recent BoP when she thought she was going to die, so I highly doubt it's over-over.)

And I just wrote you a book. lol!

I'm conflicted. They have just an amazing, iconic relationship but I hate the way he's treated her and what she's had to go through. I would like to see a somewhat healthy relationship in comics with a strong woman (Clark and Lois are one of the few) but I feel like he's such an ass that she would be committing to a pattern to get back together. And I don't want to see her doing that. She has enough problems :(

BUT, I think it's amazing, I am enjoying reading it! and even if you do make them make things work out I will be happy :)

Oh, I'm so conflicted about them too. When they're written really well, I LOVE them. But I agree that their relationship is pretty messed up and like you said, it's a pattern for them to keep getting back together ( ... )

Nicely done! A bittersweet way of spending Valentine's Day but it couldn't be any different for these two. I wonder if they'll ever work everything out?

Thank you! And I hope they're going to work everything out. It's sad, because I thought they did with having their own title and all, but that was sadly short-lived.

A lot of people didn't like that title or the wedding. I've only seen scans of the wedding so can't really say one way or the other.

And I happily take late entries! Sometimes you just can't make a deadline. :)

Yeah, that's the crummy thing. They got their own title, but the writing just wasn't quite there. Which is a shame, because the premise of married superheroes working together had a lot of promise. But low popularity=cancellation of title=screwing with the couple so they can both be in separate titles.

On the plus side, I'm loving the new Birds of Prey, so that was the positive that came out of this.

What's funny is that my husband and I have a Green Arrow and Black Canary costume and the summer after they broke up, we wore those to a con and so many people were excited to see us as a pair and came up to us and talked about their disappointment over the break-up. But who knows how many of them regularly bought the title, which is what really makes the difference.

True, it's all about the numbers!

But despite some people always glad to see Dinah ditch Ollie, there are others equally happy to see them together. Fandom is just a big ol' Haly's Circus tent! ;)

Oh yes! and honestly, I don't blame those who don't like them. Depending on which run/writer you read, they're either a super dysfunctional couple or really great together. Gotta love the continuity :)

Not to mention that they totally retconned Ollie into being a womanizer when, for years and years, the two were a pretty solid couple.

Then again, they also retconned the pairing from being between a widowed Dinah Sr and Ollie (with her being the December in their May-December romance) to Dinah Jr and Ollie as they are today, which seriously amuses me.

I thought the womanizer thing odd, too, since Ollie hadn't cheated on Dinah for years and years. Oh, well. Cheating is a cheap way to add drama.

LOL! You can only have the May-December thing as long as it's the guy who's older, I guess. The sexism in society never ends!

I didn't realize that the Ollie being a womanizer thing was a retcon... Interesting... Does change things a little.
