the doctrine of endless war

It is 3:32 PM Monday afternoon here in south western Michigan. It is 83 degrees outside this afternoon. We have central air on today, so it is comfortable inside our home. It is sunny and breezy outside today.

I got up this morning around 6:45 AM. When I came upstairs I found the sky to be gray and Carol reading in her living room chair. I had a typical morning seeking to wake up. To be honest I am still have not woken up, I have found myself falling asleep all day today. If I sit still I immediately fall into a dream state-my unconscious self takes over and leaves my conscious self someplace else.

Carol and I did have devotions this morning/we are reading through the NT/First Corinthians/Bible. What amazes me is that the Bible is mainly the Old Testament and not the New Testament. One could read the whole New Testament in one day, whereas it would take you longer to read the Old Testament. I can understand when some say that Christianity is basically a version of Judaism/Christians are spiritual Jews "the children of Abraham".

I can't recall what Carol did this morning. Our visitor's Troy and Sandy from Monroe LA are dropping by later this afternoon/we suggested they visit GR bookstores before coming here/arrive at the stores as they open so as to have lots of time to browse.

I read this morning till Noontime from a book titled, 'From Heaven He Came and Sought Her: Definite Atonement in Historical, Biblical, Theological, and Pastoral Perspective' Edited by David Gibson and Jonathan Gibson. This afternoon I have been dozing and reading my books-the last book I attempted to read was titled, 'The Continuity of American Poetry' by Roy Harvey Pearce published in 1965. I also read this afternoon from a very informative book titled, 'Black Mass-Apocalyptic Religion And The Death Of Utopia' essays by John Gray.

I read last night before going to bed, 'Christian Worldview' by Herman Bavinck. Well, I will close to wait for our visitors to come.
